OK when play a tone cd at 70 hz it has to get to volume 4 or 5 before i can hear it. wheni was playing music i ha dto turn sub up on eteh head unit till get any real base. but head light itereir light were starting to dimm so i was not wanting to push and further as the amp does not like volts below 10v.
My head unit is alpine 9847 are there any setting i should know about so dar all i have been doing is turning base up.
gains are fully up on the amp. my box is a 3.7cf box and is VERY tight fit in my EF XR6 i had to realease pressure form my spare tyre, remove the wood that sits on top of the spare, and remove my boot rubbers as they were getting ripped to shreads. teh sub is firing towards the rear of car.

Checked your crossovers?
Make sure you're not highpassing the sub at 100hz or so.

nad hatthat max as well at 200hz on amp
it seems to go hard once on h/u to sub to +15 then when i turn bass up is were i seam fit then it will go hard.
its just taht i tought a set up like this i would be turing the sub down. i got it to 125db still heaps of room to move.
on apline head units i staht sub control like a volume control eg 0-15 instead of gains were even at 0 it shold be cranking.
just need more batterys arn't game to run it any louder

Again, learn to spell/type properly.
The only things I can think of as to why you wouldn't be getting much response is:
As Fury suggested, check your crossovers, 200hz is too high for daily, should only be around 80hz at the most.(on both the headunit and the amp)
I use a 9827, (same head unit basically) and my setting were always sub out + 15, bass on +1 or 2 and the headunit doesnt clip till like volume 32.
Check that the woofer is wired in phase.
You shouldn't need to have the amp gain up full, there is definately something wrong.
Or the box design is

Please repeat that first sentence?
I think you'll find it's something to do with the crossovers.
You're running 5kw into a 9915, it SHOULD be TOO LOUD for your ears.

still need at least 2 more batts, ill wait till i grap few fulke multimeters and clap meters form work and have play.
is it bad to have 2 extra meters of 4 guage form the sub coil. it just does loop at the moment

Or the box design is
The box should be killer, it's one of my personal favourites, 3.7 @ 40Hz.
Did you assemble the box correctly? I've re-emailed you the box design PDF, make sure the port in particular is correct.
Your woofer is dual 0.5 ohm isn't it? I'm guessing it's wired in series? It should be wired as follows:
(+) from voice coil A joined to (-) of voice coil B
(-) from voice coil A to (-) speaker terminal on amp
(+) from voice coil B to (+) speaker terminal on amp
If these things are correct, then a 9915 with 3000Wrms in that box should be ripping your face off! If it isn't, there's a definite problem with some component,

yep in series i ahvent really cranked it.
ive been driving with setting on h/u at
sub +15
bass +3

fair bit of bass enough to make my rear view mirriw to keep falling down
about 125db
still ahve room to play with Bass (it goes to 10+) and volume up tp 32 but im just worred about the volatge drop on sub wil ahve to get DC clap meter 2morrow and burp it at lower levels.
i have 100A fuse at the moment and tahst still in tact
box shouldn't be issuse its JUST fiots it took me 2 hrs to get into car.

Well no wonder it's not loud if you're only turning the head unit up to 15.
Leave the bass on 0.

So why not leave the spare out if you deflated it?(dead weight) I thought you could get booked for a defective spare, but not for not having one at all.
