a few months ago i got a new windscreen (insurance payed) from windscreens O'brien the previous 1 that i had replaced was fine just had a crak in it
they gave me a new 1 and from then on both bottem corners leaked at the seal and water was pooling around my tweeters
my dad got a new screen from them just recently and i got the guy 2 seal mine properly
it still leaked so they sed bring it in and we will pressure test it
i took it this morning waited about an hour and a half while everyone was only having 2 wait 30-45 mins for theirs some ppl were haveing leaks fixed 2 so i was thinking this is a bit sus they must have fukt it up
finally got the car and he sed yer there was no sealant it it so ive whacked heaps in 4 yu definately wont leak now
i was happy drove off and now ive had a closer look and he has spilled the fuking black rubber sealant on my bonnet and smeared it across my roof above the windscreen
the **** wont come off i tried washing it with car wash
they sed when i got it that they use metho or thinners or karo 2 clean the rubber seal but theres no way im putting that **** on my PAINT itll eatit away
what do u reccon i should say/ask 4 when i call?????
thanx

Metho should be fine on the paint I don't know about kerosene though you can use it just be careful I've used acetone to clean my paint after my ****w*t brother got some big blob of glue on my car with no problems.

kero or metho should clean it. Just put some on a rag and rub it off. Don't rub to long. Try using your finger nails and some car wash first.
Also if u do use kero etc give the area a good wash after.

denatured acohol (methylated spirits) will not eat away at the paint even if you rub it really hard. However petroleum based products will remove the paint very fast! (kerosine/ Turps).
Metho is used by many to remove the adheasives (spl) when "sticck on" rubber strips are removed from the car.

metho NO !
thinners NO !
kero NO !
eucalyptus oil NO !
denatured acohol NO !
They will all eat into duco, rip off clear coat and ruin paint. Big Kev's Goo Remover and anything "Citrous" based will as well.

the smartest suggestion so far. A soft cloth, Prepsol & elbow grease in the shade when its cool (early morning or late evening). Wash the car and wax it when your done and it'll be like new.
