Lock up a TYPEWRITER yes, but not a computer
That's BS!
Considering that networks cards are 10/100 and that 1 keystroke is a fraction of a kb that would be an inhuman speed needed even to equal that, letalone be so fast that it would lock up a computer.
Slap him in the head for me

I reckon you could do it if you had a lot of other programs running in the background (especially spyware its as bad as viruses) with no trouble at all I've had that much **** running on mine before that it took 30sec for the characters to appear as I typed.

But that's bogging down because of programs...not your typing speed.

That's nothing to do with your modem. If you're typing and waiting for it to catch up, it sounds like your PC needs a format.

I think he just said one thing and meant another prob a PC n00b.
Some of the older k/b were easy to lock them up with too many key presses at once, but no u cant lock the computer up esp since she would be using something like word

That's because on CAA when you click reply it has to load all the smilies!
That can happen on any connection. It's your connection speed, it's loading the smilies and for some reason it wont show what you've typed until the page is done. Most sites will let you type in windows as the rest of the page loads.
No big drama for me tho, I have adsl
But yeah, that's what is the problem

I have days where my computer at work will lock up at the press of a key. Usually in AutoCAD at the time.

I have the same problem, & I'm on ADSL. I formatted about 6 weeks ago, & the problem was back within a fortnight.
