when you consider that they upholsterer has to get the material, make new skins and make a bit on it for time - that price is about right.

nope. if you read a forum all day you may not really learn how things are done... (think about it!)
what you described is a hack way of doing it.

It depends on the headrests really...there is a proper way of doing a job or the "cheap" way

If the headrests have holes in them, yes, they have to be redone but if they are a full padded headrest, mark out the hole and make diagonal cuts, dig out foam and install to metal posts frame. that's the easy way and looks like factory.
anthony_marinaccio
the way they where gunna do it is install em into stock head rests by cutting the old X shape into the material then taking the foam out and screwing it onto a mounted backing plate

for $250

thats from autobarn airport west i think it was

then i rang autobarn sunbubry after ringing other places and they will do the same thing for $88 a side

thats $172 as opposed to $500

airport west must not have wanted the job then

although other places i rang qouted between $100-$200 a side
Dogo
the difference will be a quick cheap job compared to a professional job.

the higher price would give u a better result - its just deciding what kind of quality ur after

maybe you don't want a top quality job?

AAPW is the only autobarn i would recommend. they do nice work and Kris is a true car audio enthusiast who 'cares'.

but you obviously need to weigh up the pros and cons. indeed you may prefer the $$ in your pocket you may be very happy with the cheaper job. no probs there.
