Tonight i went to the city in my g/fs Ford Laser..
It is lowered on its **** , 16" alloys, illegal tint etc.. asking for trouble i know but it doesnt look too bad!
I was going through kings cross and i get pulled into a RBT unit and they tell me to get the car ready for inspection,
So i park it etc.. he puts a roller under it, finds that its too low and trys to jam it under the car and the original rims are 14" and these were 16" (can only go 1" bigger) and he also got me for too much movement in the drivers seat, and the exhaust beeing to loud..
And i put my car throught the car wash an hour before and lost my p plates in it so i also got done for that! And i think i have lost my licence now cause ive been done for a burnout and only have 1 point (no p plates = 2 points) but on the rta site it says i have 4 points left!
But the thing is, My gf only bought the car a week ago and the guy that prevousily had it was a mechanic so he wrote a dodgie pink slip out for it! Is there anyway i can **** hes work over for this or is it my word against hes cause its been a week and he can say i put those mods on it (back springs chopped) so its defintly not road worthy!
Its got 21 days to get fixed and about $600 to get the things fixed to clear it! Great week, No job anymore, no licence, and a car full of defects..
p.s - Does anyone know if springs from a mitsubishi colt will fit a KE laser as im thinking of just changing them over to pass the defect and putting 14's on it from my car for now just to clear it..

Looks nice..

I highly doubt the springs would fit.. Howz about going to wreckers looking for a set of springs from a KE? Shouldn't set you back too much..

Bullcrap! Check the RTA site! As long as the rolling circumference is basically the same, it's +2" diameter, +1" width of the largest rim fitted to that model...

Thats a nice lookin car

you should be right with the wheels you got on there unless they are too wide (not sure on the width of stock KE Rims)

Just try and see if the springs out of your colt will fit in. In my VN the superlows in the rear are actually superlows out of the front of a Kinswood

if u've kept all the paperwork from buying the car then u can either report him for dodge work or even better bribe the ****er to fix it or else u'll report him
DEF-YET
who and where could u report a pink slip to tho?
DEF-YET
2 Different cops told me you can only go 1 size bigger!
I checked the Australian Design Rules and they have been updated as of October 2003 and say only 1 Size bigger!

Refer http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow.../vsi09_rev3.pdf

There is nothing that stipulates the largest rim diameter you can fit, only the rim width. Overall diameter (including tyre) must be within 15mm of standard.

u challenge it in court saying that that's how the car was purchased, dunno how these are delt with in court but i'm sure a solicitor will give u some advice

before u think about that tho, go to the mechanic with all the papers and the defect notice, u'll be supprised how quickly ur'e car will be fixed
