Hey all,
My sister just got a 1995 Nissan bluebird U13 and we need to replace the mast and rope for the electric antenna as it has snapped.

Problem is I don't know where to get one! Aerpro sell mast and rope replacements but bluebirds arn't listed.

I don't want to get another antenna cause the internals of this one is fine and it would be too much hassle replacing it due to the size and the cables.


Also if anyone knows how to remove the dash to remove the tape player i could use some advice. I got the glovebox out but that didn't seem to help.

ok what part of it is broken exactly - is the mast it self fine but the rope is broke or is the whole lot stuffed.
there is a trick I use if the mast and motor are ok but the rope is broke.

someone else can explain the dash I haven't done a RHD one yet.

Thanks, it's actually only the mast which is broken. the bottom of the second section up from the base has snaped off.


I took some measurements and have:
The overall extended length of the mast is just under 900mm
the mast diameter is 9mm
the retracted length is around 270mm
and the rope length is about 1300mm



the antenna unit only has this information on it

"28200 OE006 L
N 95 06
021759"


I'm hoping that I can get a replacement that maybe is close to these measurements and hopefully that will still work?

if you have a camera - show me the whole thing. extended and retracted- I think we have out wires crossed. as you dresribe it the silver bit is ok

sorry, it's the metal part that is broken (the external part of the antenna) the internal cord is fine

I thought that the mast is the metal part of the antenna (ie non electirc standard 1's only have this) and that the rope is the internal plastic which revolves around the gear when retracted

if this is correct, then the mask is broken but the rope is fine

ok that means my idea will not work. these are similar to a VS commodore in length and diameter. I would start there. you aren't inqld are you?

That is almost identical to mine! just wondering what exactly the sleeve is? is that the small piece that contains the bolt that goes ontop of the car and then screws into the top of the unit? if so mine is actually 70mm long but this one says it is 108mm which is considerably longer will this matter or can i just use the existing one?

Another thing i was concerned about is whether the teeth along the rope are a standard size or if it varies between manufactures? That could be a problem also.

I actually am in Brisbane (Browns Plains) so if the Hyundai Accent mast and rope is a no go then I'll get in contact with you.

only one way to find out. when you get yours out you *may* be able to reuse the sleeve you have. teeth are the same. make sure you get all the rope out of yours.

I'll be open on tues if you need help. ( kind of on break )
