I am after a phone with bluetooth and java. I'm not sure what models out there have both these features. I read a review of the Siemens S55 and it seems quite good, any bad opinions about them?

Any suggestions? Price is open but best not to spend too much

Motorola A920 on the '3' network

Bluetooth, IR, GPS, Full PDA function, Video recording, Digital Camera, Video Phone function, Touch Screen, Uses the sybian operating system and can be unlocked to allow you to install any program that you want (java, flash, aswell as normal exe programs)

I bought one two months ago, had a few teething problems at first but i gotta say, im damned impressed with it now!!

$38.00/month with $100.00 up front, first 10 minutes is free to any other 3 handset, $38.00 of video chat per month, cheap sms's, cheap call rates. its a fantastic deal!!

hmm, dunno about that.

it will run most symbian series 60 programs but definately not windows applications.

Also, unlocking is rather difficult and only for the 1337, so be careful.

I would personally NOT reccomend the siemens S55, its an average phone at best. Colour screen on it is hideous. The Sony Ericsson T610 0wns it.

T610 is bit of a cripple when it comes to "true" java usage.... however "rumour" has it (from SE) that the phone will have updated software with updated java, so it will allow full web access, etc, from java, something which doesn't really work with it well at the moment.... Only thing is, java, what do you want to actually do with it?

I need a java phone with bluetooth because I am involved with a java programming business that writes games for java phones. We will be getting a couple of handsets in the near future to test on, I just want to get a feel of whats available at the moment and whats popular.
NUTTTR
Don't bother with the T610 then, the java is, well, "dodgy"..... pretty slow..... although, i work for a telco and can tell you that T610's are selling like nothing else.... lots and lots are selling.... Not sure what other phones tho, but T610 is one of the better currently available phones... T650 should be out Q2 next year with any luck and thats supposed to be REALLY good

I'm not that familiar with the specific phones being discussed, but imo whatever phone you decide to choose, you should clarify (with the vendor):
- What specific java platform(s) are supported ?
- Precisely how the bluetooth (or any other functionality of interest to you) can be accessed via the particular java platform. i.e. will the features you require be directly accessible through the java api's they provide ?

Just a suggestion because some phones have "java", but still require the programmer to use native code to access features like bluetooth.
