Ok, washing a car with just a bucket and sponge SUCKS, it takes too long, and it doesn't do a very good job,
Now, about these restrictions, can u actually use a hose if you use one of those attachment pieces??? the ones that have the trigger, and the changable spray pattern? with the 4 patterns??

Thanx anyway!
Vanilla Essence
yeah, washin it with bucket and sponge takes 4 eva. yeah u can wash it with a hose ey! this guy i know is like obsessed when it comes 2 washing his car, it has 2 be like perfect. he uses a hose. if u dont have oneof those ones that changes the pattern of the spray u can just hold ur finger over the end of the hose a bit u can like make the spray change by urself

I don't actually think your allowed to use the hose unless you have one of those high pressure compressors attached to it. Why not just go to car lovers and wash your car there?
DEF-YET
Carewash is way cheaper then car lovers i dunno if they are in other states tho and have better features..
But everytime i go there, theres a fuking 40min wait just to get in one of the 6 bays!
Grrrr

I wonder if Bob Carr and his bunch of dimwits will drive around in dirty cars, if they do, so will I!!!!! Till then my Rex will be washed every weekend regardless.

I use a car washing enjo glove - one bucket of water is all you need, no rinsing. It's pretty quick too cause you don't need to rinse before or after.

Does it scratch ur paint?

An idea I read in the SMH the other day was to use a garden watering can to rinse the car. Seems to work pretty well and you won't get fined for it.

i washed my car on the weekend with a bucket, and i have to say i eneded up using more water.
they should just make it so that u can use a hose if u have a trigger head, which is the rule for washing boats.

Yeah I would go to car lovers, but I just enjoy washing the car, it gives me something to do LOL.

My bros got one of those high pressure units, but he is in geelong, about 1 hour away, Its annoying as hell..

I would probably just take my car when i get it to carelovers, roughly how much would it cost me to wash the car there???
And whats the quality like?
Macca
Car lover's is NOT expencive if you how to do it right It costs me $2 to wash the mirage.

Take your own bucket and car wash sponge and chammy. Also take a jerry can with water for the bucket.

Rine the car down with high pressure

then get ya car wash and water fill the bucket and wash away then rince in one go.

You under cover so the suds dont tent to dry and also using high pressure.

If the attendant says anything about the bucket in the bay show him you suds ect and tell him with the water restrictions and you only use a specific brand of car wash like i do. They shouldnt have a problem after that.
Rmyers
Quality? I don't know what you mean by that. The pressure of the hose is high and you got bout 7 settings to choose from

Umm, I think it's like $1 for every 2 minutes, that's what it is at our local.

I've got a trigger head attachment that I bought from Sydney Water, supposedly endorsed by them as a water saver.
Whats the point of having it if you can't use it?
Hyena
water restrictions my @rse is my attitude!
I don't water my garden or have long showers so the council/government can suck my balls!
Plus I have a high fence inside which I wash my car

i just washed my car, it's a ***** of a job with a bucket, even using one of the watering can's, there's not enough "flow" of water to actually get the dirt from under side strips and stuff... Next time i wash it, i'll just use the hose, it's a load of bollocks, it's too hard to clean, i ended up using about 15 buckets of water because i simply didn't get enough flow out of the watering can, lol.... So in the end, i used alot more water than i would of, but hey...

Yea im inclined to agree, the bucket usues more water than the hose, but its gonna save water in the long run because lazy assholes such as myself, are never gonna wash there car

And have the hose right next to the car so u can fill the buckets up next to the car and not have to walk back to the tap each time
Rattlehead
I think the purpose of having u use buckets is to stop u from washing ur car full stop and paying a car wash to do it.

Anyway, question...if I bought one of those high pressure hose thingies from Autobarn (Saw them for $180) I can wash my car with a hose anytime??

My car have the matalic blue and i can't used bucket to wash my car. I have to use hose with small water and the cloth to wash it.

I try to used bucket b4 but it just produce too many scratches on the body.

Not at all as long as you rinse the glove in the bucket of water really regularly. Infact I used it on my parents car and it managed to take a heap of paint scrapes from mum's reversing efforts off not leaving any scratches. Only bad thing is that cause you aren't using any suds and you are close to the car you can see all the paint chips and imperfections on the body work - kind of depressing.
