When i dl mp3's from kazaa some of em start playing then all of a sudden it cuts out and this really annoying weird sound starts playing like the noise r2d2(only thing i can think of) guy makes in star wars! what is it?? its really really annoying i have to download the same song like 10 times to get a clean copy!

Hehe.....so its suceeding then...

One of the more recent ways that people are trying to stop other people downloading illegal music...putting massive blanks or funny sounds through mp3s....

There have been a couple of other threads on this...

yeah i have been getting the same thing and its really pissing me off!!!!
so who puts them in?? i mean i am sure its not the person who is sharing the file!
G-Phresh
i think a way to fix that is dl it off one user

that way their is less of a chance to get a blank file mixed in with a good one when you are dling

just dont use kazaa

and if the download speeds are extra fast .. consider them suspicious.

be patient with the slower users coz at least u know they're good **** .

That's what they (the RIAA) want!!

Here's a novel idea, if it's really pissing you off, you could always buy a copy of the CD!

yeah ive had a few songs with this problem, i dled the black eyed peas new song 6 times this arvo, every one had either the noise or just didnt contain any music data! first time i heard it i thought my stereo had exploded! nearly crashed off the road! i heard that it was to stop "illegal" file sharing, pretty gay, how do they expect us to get music, buy it?!? its not like they dont make enough money as it is, what does a couple of thousand dollars matter when youre selling millions of albums worldwide!!!

yeh it seems like a real pain to dl songs atm, from what i seem to be reading the RIAA have hired comp specialists to find flaws in kazaa's file downloading codes. it seems the kazaa programmers were pretty sloppy when it came to thier coding and theses RIAA employed punks have exploited the "hashing" method in kazaa's code workings... as stated above the best method is to dl off 1 person and go for a medioca speed, they seem to be the most realiable.. they say that the RIAA crackdown is likely to slow and we should be able to start having no probs with kazaa again...
hope that helps

Ok

Heres your 4 Step way of avoiding such nonsense

1. Download Kazaa Lite K++ (cant remember the URL, but just google it.

2. Turn on the "banned IP ranges" plugin

3. Update "banned IP ranges" each and every day.

4. Enjoy star wars free music

Also another idea, just use a different file sharing prog. I havent got a scrambly song for quite some time now
bob
Matty where is the plugin for the banned ip's, I can't find it.

cheers ill give it a try

from the looks of it, they only went after 128kbit mp3's, so get variable bit-rate or higher-bit rate versions. or dont use kazza
PER10D
na i download at 196kps and from time to time you still get those crapty noises on the tracks.

what other good sharing programs are out there??
Bodyjar
Go out and buy the CD's you bums!
