I have a 1.5 DIN pocket from mazda that I would like to modify to fit on a toyota mounting bracket.
Any ideas on how I should go about doing that?

The pocket does not have any mounting holes on the sides at all, which is where toyota's mounting brackets are located...

I assume this will be easy to find at the wreckers? or can it be ordered at toyota as spare part?

what are you trying to acheive? AE92 is a 2din item.

I have a 1.5din hole i wanna fill with a 1.5din pocket.
currently i have a 1din pocket with a 0.5din filler.

just find one any size that fits and cut/fill with fibreglass or sheet plastic.

isnt it more of a job to cut a toyota compatible 2din to a 1.5din than making screw holes for the 1.5din mazda pocket?

it may be but it depends on the finish your after. its hard to say what id do without looking at it myself. from what i understand your trying to fill a hole thats made for a 1.5 din pocket to accommodate something thats 1 din? if the mazda pocket fits well enuff into the hole and the holes that you would drill will be out of site or at least done realyy neat then thats what i would do but i dont know what the face of the pocket is shaped like. i made a custom console for someone and i put in an au falcon pocket because of its curved face which looked better than just a plain old flat one. i found that at autobarn. they may have one to fit strate in for you. let us know how it goes.

this would mean a facia thats 1.5din with a 1din pocket right?
cuz at the moment its a 0.5din black plastic filler below the HU.
im getting the 8650 into the car soon and if i could solve the 1.5din problem it would b awesome.

look for a SC400 (lexus) kit- order from O/S - easier if you do it than me.
the car isn't a large volume car for me so if I ordered the kit it would be in lots of 6.
