hey guys my comp died on me a couple of months ago and now i want to build one from scratch

heard of these new intel dual core processors and i want to jump on board tongue.gif

but i only have about $1100 max to spend...
what i was sondering is could anyone on here put together a parts list for me

i dont really have much of an idea on price or new parts as my last computer i bought was 2 years ago tongue.gif

i am going to need absolutley everything, mother board, graphics card, ethernet card, DVD player/burner, HDD, power supply, sound card, CPU (anything else i have forgotten)?. im also looking for a TV tuner that can record to my HDD

wouldnt mind a nice looking case too, something black that doesnt tick out like dogs balls, i have a 32" LCD screen which i will be hooking up the computer too (thus the TV tuner is wanted)

the computer will be used to watch TV at max res when i am not using the computer but when i am using it, it wont really be used to play any hardcore games (although photoshop will be used and i may want to play the odd memory intensive game every once in awhile tongue.gif)

thanks in advance for the help guys if anyone can also point me to any hardware/software forums to better update my knowlege of these new processors and widgets that would be awsome too tongue.gif

thanks, Alex

If you're not into gaming I would say go Pentium. But considering the Intel Conroe duals and respective 975 series mobos are due for release in July I would wait for them. They perform better by 30% and run cooler than the current D series. The Conroe is also hailed as an AMD killer, so I would do a little more homework and maybe hold off. By all reports Intel want the new processors to flood the market. This is to rid themselves of the poor rep gained from the current line-up, but also the advantage to this is cheaper retail cost.
