Welcome to the ACARS World!

Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System
today around 2pm, there was a customer (old man) walk in and ask me to help to download some stuff on the net, while opening it i was shocked and really scare of that website.
Air-Craft tracking
while i downloading, i ask him many times.. IS IT FOR GAME OR WAT?... he said his son want him to download it for him. he also mention that for tracking and viewing the air-crafts.
To me This is like an illgal stuff, so i just say sorry we cant download it and he went out. It doesn't look like a game to me, and it doesn't look realistic to me either. what is it? is it for those *terrerist* or what?

hmm
PS: i am not sure wheather this thread/topic is illegal to this website! i only just want to share some info and some idea
thank

Some people just like planes etc...

There are those "plane spotter" people who sit at the airport all day writing down airplane numbers etc

I wouldn't be worried... looks quite interesting actually!
Redav
Yeah, plane spotters exist. It's not as safe as train spotting though. Railway lines go everywhere and even overseas it's easy to access. We had a guy working for us who was a plane spotter and on several occasions the military from a couple of countries held him at gun point, confiscated equipment or recovered film.

Sounds like fun.

Some of the pics are interesting, pulling the wrong lever...

Redav
Hahaha... oops.
vanboy
there's sumfin about this on java's homepage! lol
Subatomic

^^ 4 real!!???
Interceptor
i doubt it....... would you be anywhere near a 747 if it was that low?
Regecide
Nope that pic and similar ones like it are all real. There's a place somewhere (can't remember but i think it's southern Europe) where the beach ends the runway starts.
Have a look at the people, they're all looking at the 747, hard to fake a pic like that.
Redav
Definately real. It's St. Marteen. There's a Powerpoint file doing the rounds through email. I have it here. Some good photos in there.

Hmmm.... this is fun

Subatomic
wtf happened there!??

i'm guessing there are no passangers(sp)
Redav
Crapped itself on landing

Actually, it's not a real photo.
churchy
yeah, that beach looks pretty calm considering there are 4 jet engines sitting 10 or so metres above it. i would have thought water spraying everywhere and sand all over the place would be more accurate
Redav
Nah, the beach photo is a real photo, the accident above is a fake photo.
Kramy
it looks to me like the landing gear in the beach shot hasnt come right down. could be a photo edit.
Interceptor
nah, the landing gear in the beach pic is fully down

the beach photo couldnt be real, would there be people be flying around in the air with the amount of turbulance and such a 747 would make?
chanhonam
that looks scary....

even plane plotter is scary too...

anyone here plans to go over-sea this x-mas and new year? and where?
Regecide

clueless
The runway at Denpasar on Bali is close to the beach like that...I remember soiling myself on take-off. mainly due to my horrible fear of flying, but also due to feeling as though we were bout to aquaplane, pardon the pun.

Not necessarily. Remember, it's landing. Landing is a controlled descent, no need for the full power of the engines which can cause havok with odds and ends like debris and people. I reckon you'd feel something, just not a tornadoish kinda thang.
