Hi,

I own a 1997 TE Magna and I am wanting to turbo it. I am unsure who would do these types of modifications as I have never done anything like it before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds expensive and unlikely although several have done it.

http://www.rpw.com.au/ have a TT magna running around. Drop em a line, perhaps.

I'm going to go ahead and guess you've go the most common 3.0 v6?

a turbo conversion even for the 4cyl magna is close to $7/8,000

your most reliable option would be the sprintex supercharger.

these even come with a warranty.

but on AMC most people will tell you, its possible if you have the $$, but not always the most sensible option.

There are a few T'd magnas out there (Booya being one) but they are all custom....it would be hard pinpointing a certain place to go to that has got a reputation with the V6 maggies..

Perhaps. Turbo conversions can be done suprisingly cheaply if you use all the most basic parts and dont want to run particularly high PSI. Shortcuts like using the jaycard DFA, etc.

I'd say the hardest part of a TT conv on a magna, would be the dual custom exhaust manifolds. Which a supercharger wont have to worry about.

look on the forums for some engine transplants as an alternative. it might be cheaper and remember u'll be running different compression on ur NA engine which is not good in the long run. (good for performance tho)

the only transplant available is some DOHC engine from the states im sure, or it could be a MIVEC, but theres not many transplant options available.

for the 2nd gens i know the 3000GT TT DOHC motor is a straight drop in smile.gif

Now is that that the 6a12 TT, or was there a 6a13 TT hybrid?

never heard of those motors for the mitsu's, maybe tim can clear it up but my motor memory for the 3rd gens is weak...its more along the lines of G672TT/G674TT something like that.

6a12 v6 mivec was offered in FTO's, its a common swap into the CE lancer as it literally just blots in.

6a12 v6 TT was a little big to fit in a lancer, but from what i know came standard in a few GTO's, not sure if it was mivec, guessing not.

And the 6a13, was a v6 with slightly more capactiy, which some people put the mivec head from a 6a12 on, to get a monster tongue.gif
