The Pioneer DEH-P5850MP features Pioneer’s proprietary IP-Bus system, enabling the connection of Pioneer’s CD-IB100 iPod adaptor or CD-BTB100 Bluetooth wireless adaptor.
With a Pioneer CD-IB100 iPod adaptor, consumers can connect, control and play their iPod through the DEH-P5850MP CD tuner.
By connecting the CD-BTB100 Bluetooth adaptor, consumers will enjoy wireless connectivity between their CD tuner and any Bluetooth mobile phone. This means users can make and receive mobile phone calls through their Pioneer CD player.
MP3 / WMA / AAC Playback
Consistent with consumer trends, play lists are easily personalised into individual music CDs. The Pioneer DEH-P5850MP keeps up with the latest trends, offering MP3 / WMA (Windows Media Audio), as well as the playback of CDs with iTunes® AAC files (Advanced Audio Coding) .
The playback of MP3 and WMA files gives consumers flexibility with regards to the type of music they can play and the sources their music comes from. Each CD-R or CD-RW disc has the capacity to hold up to ten complete albums of MP3 music and twenty for WMA / AAC discs.
As these CDs can hold so much data, the Pioneer DEH-P5850MP comes with a ‘Random-Mode’, which randomly chooses and then plays the tracks on the CD.
The Pioneer DEH-P5850MP enhances the entertainment experience with features like ‘ID3 Tags’, which displays the artist, title, track and album information on the DEH-P5850MP screen, just like a computer.
Pioneer’s DEH-P5850MP works with AAC files for iTunes, possibly the most popular music library, burning and ripping program available. Note: Not compatible with DRM-protected music purchased from iTunes Music Store.
Take your iPod on the road with you
The Pioneer DEH-P5850MP CD tuner is the gateway for consumers to take their iPod music collection on the road with them.
The new iPod adaptor CD-IB100 is backwards compatible with at least 300,000 Pioneer visual audio systems and CD tuners sold in Australia since 1994.
By using the adaptor to connect an iPod mobile digital audio player to the Pioneer DEH-P5850MP, consumers can control a wealth of iPod menu functions through the DEH-P5850MP, including genre, song, album, playlist and artist. While doing so, the iPod’s battery is charged automatically.

Supertuner® IIID™
Despite all the excitement around being able to play an iPod or MP3/WMA music on a Pioneer CD tuner, listening to traditional FM and AM in the car is still hugely popular.
The Pioneer DEH-P5850MP features Supertuner® IIID™, a new digital AM/FM tuner circuitry for significantly improved FM and AM sound. Some of the main consumers benefits of Supertuner® IIID™ include:
- Better stereo imaging. This means the separation between the right and left speakers is at the right level, so music sounds like it's supposed to.
- Less distortion. New digital processing reduces the amount of distortion you hear, so the music sounds cleaner. Also, the ratio of signal to noise is higher, meaning that you're hearing more music and less unwanted noise.
- Reduced multi-path noise. Multi-path is caused by a station's signal bouncing off things like tall buildings and arriving at your car from more than one direction. Supertuner® IIID™ corrects for that.
- A stronger signal. Supertuner® IIID™ maintains the radio station's signal much longer than conventional tuners, so the unit can be farther from the transmitter and still receive a strong signal. And when you have 101.5 FM selected, the signal doesn't drift toward 101.3 or 101.7. It locks in.

By activating the Bluetooth function on a mobile phone, the Pioneer DEH-P5850MP (with CD-BTB100) with automatically register the mobile phone and activate ‘hands-free’ operation.
The Pioneer CD-BTB100 Bluetooth adaptor is compatible with the Pioneer’s 2006 CD tuner range, (excluding any model below the DEH-P2650 CD player). This feature is available on any Pioneer tuner featuring P-Bus that was released from 2004 and onwards.
Cellular mute on the DEH-P5850MP CD tuner (not iPOD adaptor) ensures users will not have to reach for the volume button during a phone call.
