Maz
I got defected tonight.

I was pulled over with neons on, no fine for them but I have to take my underbody neons off and get a road worthy.

They wrote: "Additional lighting does not follow A.D.R"

Can neons be installed following A.D.R? i would assume no as the neon wire is run next to brake lines etc.
Marc
I don't know the wording of the specific ADR's pertaining to lighting, but you will find the the part they are referring to is that additional vehicle lighting (exterior) has to be clear (white) colour, in the form of driving lights etc.

From memory even yellow fog lights don't conform with ADR's.

No light/s other than OE lighting is allowed in the interior of a vehicle.

Under NSW laws you are allowed red at the rear and white at the front... i think hahaha

I'm not sure about this one! In theory I don't think that it would be allowed because it could fool some unsuspecting and inattentive driver into thinking that the neon was a brake light or something, I don't think that you are allowed to have neons the same colour as the major vehicle lighting at the relative ends of the vehicle. Therefore, no white neons at the front as they clash with the colour of headlights, and no red neons at the back as they clash with brake/fog lights.

Cheers...Mitch

I thought the colour thing is only if you have them on while driving.

On private property cant you have any colour? meaning they can be fitted to the vehicle regardless of colour.
exup
i know u cant have rearward facing white light. cept reversing.

I recently found out that you cant make ANY mods without an engineering certificate.

By any, i do mean any, the cops can snatch ya for a zorst put on by a legit shop, if they didnt give u an engineering cert.

I asked around and they can do whatever the frig they want. Wish they would hassle people who deserve it, not just people making their car run/look better in a safe manner

The rules are pretty fudged up when it comes to that sort of thing

You can have em installed but not on while driving, I know I got my road worthy with them installed, but its a whole different thing if your driving with them on.
XHELL
QLD people there is a web site and ruling you can have them on while driving, they aren't aloud to be the same colour as emergency vehicles and aren't aloud to flash strobe etc, I should dig that out one day...

well time to ditch the blue neons and go and get myself some nice 7000 volt purple tubes.

hmmm rice is nice

i think people can do whatever the hell they want to their car, aslong as it doesnt blind me. Add your stupid 50 ft wings and coffee can exhausts, just dont try to look all cool infront of me or i'll smack you with the back of my hand. End of discussion.
