i possibly have the oppurtunity to by an 85 corolla hatchback (with the steep rear window...)
its had a bare metal respray, mags, lowerd, tinted taillights etc etc, its also had an engine transplant with 15000 on it..price ~2000...is this a steal???are they good cars?? what about audio wise?are they a whore to put h/u speakes etc in??

what engine is it? 20V (silver or black top) 16V (86kw or 100kw)

a steal? yes, depending on engine
good car? again yes, depending on engine...but yes
head unit? peice of piss
speakers? different story...factory 4" in the dash, 6x9" in rear

see if you can find out more info...especially on the engine and i would also advise you to look on twincam.org - as its basically dedicated to corollas

heaps of bloke on there (SRC) have AE82s etc...

things I would be looking at if its had a swap done:
ECU - std or aftermarket- if aftermarket what is the wiring like and how well is it tuned (IE does it drink fuel like a $5 slut )

general condition of engine - compression check - are they above std or close to.
gearbox: noisy,notchy
rust?

there's a reason its $2k.

im thinking it may only be a bigport 4age....possibly small port for that price
