I was wondering if anyone has used one and what box did you have it in. I have 1 for my truck and 2 to go in my brother's car.

ProClass
Resembles a washing machine.
Sounds like on too.
Pulse-R
looks like what I used to make post holes last week

They work best in an infinite baffle arrangement but failing that a sealed enclosure of ~3cuft (90L) was the recomended volume I remember for them.

Keep in mind that they don't go much above 50hz.

But apparently, they *will* go loud, albeit sloppily?

I used something similar to whip my eggs this morning... and I noticed that when I moved it up and down the sound changed. Never occured to me to install one in my car... tongue.gif
Pulse-R
any more info on how these work?
looks interesting.

lots of topics on this in the CAA search engine, i remember bringing a similair concept up myself once.

I reviewed these in CSA back in the day and, while novel, there was simply no getting around the problem of chuffing between the vane tips and the inner sides of the 'tub'. Due to the design this tiny air gap had to exist, and therefore had to leak.
Still, my hat is off to Larry Fredericks for designing it. Had beers with him once - could talk the ears of anyone.

And i was wrong. They dont go particularly loud, had to be crossed at only about 60hz, but went very loooowwww
Pulse-R
so does it go round and round, or back and forth?
how is it constructed?

Some examples and better explanations that I can give on them, and similar. "Xmax" is measured in degrees, if that helps.

Its really just a different way to move air, and only works effectively at very low freq's (50 down really). Spoke to one guy who used it with 12" subs bandpassed (40-80) and the cyclone playing 40 down. Apparently had a low end that was just amazing. Love to play with one, but the major verdict is that PG took a clever design, and messed up a little by making it a bit 'cheap'.

newer version of this concept can be found here.

Here are the scans, I have much higher resolution available if anyone wants them.

As for cutoff words; you can infer what is missing smile.gif
~Spyne~
crape freq response, why would u buy one?!?!

haha, i just found out that s-h-i-t-e turns into crape when u post a message

Wank factor.

And I'd like a crepe, too.
