quick question

how much to get a car (datsun 260c........pretty chunky sedan) over to japan approximately?

we have no idea and yeh.....just wondering if anybody would know on here......

whatever methods....etc....etc

I think shipping is like 3-4k via boat,( To the US) but maybe contact one of the major shipping/import export companies close to where the car is....

ring a freight forwarder and see. plenty inthe hamilton area. KIWI lines is one I haev used. $1700-$2k RORO is the norm.

Yes, ring up a freight forwarder from the yellow pages. Cost me around 2K (eveything inclusive) for a 20 foot cargo to ship my Landcruiser to HK with another 40 boxes of my personal belonging. Took about 12 days to get there.

Have you done some homework regarding Japan's vehicle import? Such as emission requirement, import tax, etcetc. The paper work was a pain in the ass to get the car onto the road in my hometown.

and no i havent really looked into it much, my father is trying to sell the car..........and there was a guy in japan enquiring about purchasing it thats all
