Well just got back from all three Matrix movies and don't feel like I sat through three movies at all which is a sign of a good movie I think.
Loved the new one and left alot open to the imagination imo. Won't say anymore in fear of spoiling it for others.
What did others think?

I swill play devils advocate and say that it dissapointed me on a few levels. They built the drama so much for the finale that I found it a little out of place. Good by all means but not the perfect mind trip / ending that I expected. I saw all three as well and after 9 hours of being immersed in that world it was quite nice to walk through my front door at 3am. All in all I would do it again, great night and great trilogy.
Cheers

I too must voice my dissapointment at it. I loved the first one, thought the 2nd one was average and just found the 3rd one really didn't do it for me.

So why does the 3rd one seem to dissapoint?
Is the story not fulfilling?

I read the spoiler for it and now am not really looking forward to it!

I was rather unfulfilled after watching it. The last movie left us all thinking about all these possibilities and a lot of unanswered questions. I dont think the third really answered the them, there was just fuc|<loads of shooting and stuff.
I think there could have been alot of better ways to end what was set to be a great trilogy, but ended up falling on its **** in the final chapter.

Nov 7 2003, 07:17 PM
I went to the premier...wait in line for 3 hours to see it.
It was the final chapter of a great idea, but I think they f****d it up. I was extremly disapointed with it. As VL Commy pointed out, It answered a few questions but nowhere near enough! It should have been the closing chapter instead it leaves the book open.
So much potential, so little delivered. So much hope, so much disapointment and so the story ends in a whimper of what it should have been.

Yeah the ending was left wide open but i doubt they will make another. but damn those special effects were mind blowing.

Matrix....1st was excellent....2nd was ummm, OK......3rd gets a big WHAT THE?
Up until now I had some respect left for the Watsyamacallit Brothers that made this stuff but have since realised that this final chapter was nothing more than a waste of some damn fine time that could have been spent working on High IQ....and that really pisses me off!!!!!!
From now on it's Terminator all the way.....

I agree.
And I agree with those that said the 3rd one didn't resolve enough. Like what was with the 2nd to last (i think scene)? ...trying not to spoil it.

i just seen it, a bit dissapointed but hey, i got to see it at the drive in's with my car stereo, my mate fell asleep in his car, got him up after it finished and told him everyone dies, he's like "awwww **** !" anyway, 1st one rocked

Well, it seems I am alittle against the grain here, because I thought it was pretty good.
I don't know what questions you guys were left with, but it answered all of mine.
Without ruining it for everyone, Neo did what he was there to do. The same as all the other programs in the matrix.......
I don't understand what everyone else expected. Was he supposed to save the day, destroy the matrix and save all of man kind????
If that happened then I would have been more dissapointed. Just a typical ending that any walt disney crew would come up with.
I loved it, all of them.
Thats my 2c.
Cheers Kevlar

Yeah the movie was alright, but i was expecting alot more at the end. Like the humans didn't defeat the machines, the matrix is still running, and how long do you think that 'truse' will last between the machines and humans..not long i reckon.
Oh... and anyone stupid enought to open a post about the matrix, and not expect people to TALK about the movie itself deserve the the movie to be spolied.

I saw it Saturday night...(Lucky I got good seats - was packed!!!)
Anyway, I must say ...good effects, **** ending to what was a great idea, Neo is a weak ass ***** in this movie. It reminded me of Frodo in Lord of the Rings when he falls into water and acts like a weak ass.
Questions remain...the main guys in the first and second movies seem to play a much smaller role in the third.
Anyway, as much as I wanna like the movie coz I love the first 2...this one has disappointed me although it still is pretty good.
So sad to say

I thought it was a good conclusion, my only gripe with it was lack of explanation of Neo's "powers" without giving too much away.
Perhaps a new thread should be started or the topic changed with a movie spoiler warning.

OK, the first was 90% in the matrix, second, half and half, 3rd was 90% real world. Now, Neo is the shizzle in the matrix, since he has discovered he is the one who can break the rules. Outside, while he has some neat tricks, he is still not the super man he is in the matrix. Hence, he be a pussy. I must admit the crossover of power from matrix to real world was a bit confusing.
Oh, and watch the Animatrix. While it doesnt help explain the 3rd movie, it does fill the details on the beginning, and its pretty cool too

Animatrix was good, Enter the Matrix game was a great companion to the second movie.
Still, I have trouble coming to grasp with Neo's power in the 3rd movie

best explanation i've seen for neos powers was this: when the hovercrafts cruise around and look at the matrix code, they are seeing it through some sort of wireless pickup. when they go to "broadcast depth" they plug people into it so they are recieving and sending information to the matrix system. when neo uses his powers he is somehow wirelessly hooked up to the matrix (just like he was when he was in a coma and in mobil station) and is able to exhibit some sork of control over the machines.

What wasn't explained in Revolutions? I thought it was great.
The Watchowski (spl) brothers said that they wanted people to get their own experience from the movie. Do you guys have to have every inch of the story explained to you? Do you want a final resolution and see all the happy people escape from the Matrix? Use your imagination.
And of course a truce is the only way out, the humans don't have a chance against the machines.

I was hoping Neo would just go to the machine city and fire the EMP! It was BS how they didn't free everyone from the matrix. Then again the EMP would have killed all the people plugged into the matrix aye...grrr
The movie sucked, very disappointed, they could have wrapped it up much better rather than implying that the whole cycle has begun again.

I agree totally.
All those complaining that they dont understand the movie, its sh*t blah blah, and the humans should have won havent been following the plot and the storyline.
It was a good movie, a conclusion that makes you think. The whole trilogy was to make you think.

Neo's powers in the real world were due to his connection to the source.
Neo was never going to save all the humans, but he was going to bring an end to the war. And that he did.
The role of the one was to return to the source, he completed his role and thats where it ended.
Everyone's minds are now free to make the choice of entering the matrix, so in way, the people are saved.
Those of you who think it was a crap ending, dont have an imagination. All the questions were answered.
It is an awesome trilogy and I know I will be buying the collectors edition!!!!!!
Quote Keanu - " The third movie is about the battle to save zion, the ultimate battle between good and evil and the birth of compassion."

OK, well those who are getting a little fiesty will have to excuse this discussion as obviously it is all answered in the movie and lesser people missed it.

Exactly, this is the only reason provided but what sense does it make? where is the physical connection when he is not plugged in? His brain is a seperate entity than the cource code and I dont see the connection.
I think the wireless link idea is heading down the wrong track.

IMHO the movie allowed for further movies/features (animatrix 2? matrix series? cartoons?) but did not leave it as though there would definately be more.

i thought it was great
it answered everything it set out to
and as for the link with the source, its supposed to be left upto the imagination
thats what makes this movie so good
it doesnt tell you where to go, its lets you take the journey, as such
i thought it was great
didnt bore me and it answered all my questions
