is it true the more and bigger the subs are the higher db you will get?

And you posted in the sound quality section for what reason?????

Try asking questions in the db/spl sections. Also, try using the search function to avoid being flamed by multiple people for asking a question thats been asked dozens of times before....

Its not that simple. It depends on

- Amplifiers. Power, and effeciency. Stability at low ohm loads.
- Power supply. Battery storage. Alternator recharge rates. Discharge rates.
- Box design. Port tuning frequency, which is heavily dependent on the following
- Vehicle...construction and resonant freq all affect spl. Modifications (Filling doors with concrete, etc).
- Sub design. On phat 12" in a hatchback, in a proper box, could spank the pants of 6 average 15" subs, all in badly designed box's in a sedan.

So theres no simple answer to that question.
A beefier sub has the *potential* for greater dB, provided all other factors are equal.
Then again, if it takes more power to get moving (sensitivity lesser) and you dont up the power, you could concievably reduce your spl.

Its a wonderful world.

And as stated, wrong forum dude tongue.gif Theres a whole dedicated, highly active SPL Forum.
