My JBL 6x9's are HPF
just coz i can tongue.gif

Do you have active crossover control on your headunit? or only on your amp?
What are your rear speakers, model and power handling.

As you probably know by now, everyone's ears suit a different taste, what you like will most likely be a personal thing. Get fiddling! And adjust every few days when you pick a flaw! tongue.gif

As a guide, sub-bass goes up to about 80odd hz. You dont want this from small rear speakers, doubly so if your using a sub.

So, if your not using a sub, try a HPF at ~100hz, 12db/oct. If you are using a sub, bump it up to say ~120hz, with a steeper slope.

Then again, if all you have is amp crossover control, play between 80-120hz.

HYP03L, lolz

liquidity, i have variable xovers on amp.
these r my rear speakers:

nothing special but rear passengers seem happy enough with em smile.gif

yes this fiddling!! i find myself fiddling with the EQ on EVERY song EVERY day!! gets damn annoying & tiring hahah

atm my LPF for the sub is set at around 75-85hz(been a while since ive checked so im not where the LPF is set at now).

if i tune it higher(>90hz), i start to notice my subass comes from behind. if i tune it any lower(<70), than my subass sounds "hollow" & like im "missing out on some bass"

from that, would u say midbass is missing from my system??

i agree. depends on the system tho.. wink.gif

i have removed some bass from my rearfill 6x9's , as my 15" sub is directly below them , also all three drivers are with in a arms reach , and so are my fronts , i been studying to tune them like a blind man and use some touchy technique........zion

Mine are probably set at about 120Hz on a 6dB slope
the_iano
Midbass only, 100hz high passed, same slope as the fronts. Slight rear time alignment.

Adds a lot of ambience I find, but be sure to fade them right down, but not completely out of the mix.

aww , i have come to love my tweeter action from my rears , i have them disconected atm .........zion
ProClass
I band pass rears above 250 HZ and below 3000 HZ
Play with electrical phase as you change X-over points.
While electrical phase is 180 degrees, the acoustics phase with relation to freq range makes this exercise worthwhile.
