Ok heres all the specs I think are relative,

Boston G212 Subwoofer
Frequency Response 20-350 Hz
Mounting cut-out diameter 11 (and 3/16)"
Mounting Depth 7 (and 3/16)"
Recommended ported volume (of box) 2ft3
Recommended port frequency 34Hz

Using The CAA calculator I worked out these specifications for a wedge type ported sub

Hight 21.5”
Width 13.5”
Depth 8”
Depth 25.3”
Port diameter 4”
Resulting port frequency 34”
MDF thickness .75’ (is this a good thickness or should I achieve more Boston
recommends this as a minimum?)
Port length 11.557”
Port Area 12.566’2
Port volume 0.0842 Ft 2
Net Box Volume 20.0199 Ft 2

For this sub is this enclosure ideal?
Is the port frequency ideal for a good mix of different genres of music?
And finally would getting a V12 mono MRD-M605 Amplifier be more beneficial than a Boston GT-22 Amplifier? (I have a alpine DVA-9861E)

also whats better 2ohm applications or 4ohm applications

No such thing. Depends if you want accuracy or loudness. That box looks like it would be a bit "boomy", but loud. Still thats what boston reccomend, they should know. If you want it loud at the expense of some SQ, then it should suit well.

The g212 appears to suit sealed boxes better as far as SQ is concerned.

It should be ok. Again it's difficult to say it will be ideal.

Either amp would suit power wise. The alpine has a subsonic filter, which would be good for use with the ported box.

No different as far as sound goes. Only different options for connection. In this case, with those amps, i would go for the SVC option. Either amp will have sufficient power at 4 ohms. If you get a second SVC sub later, either amp will still power them both at 2 ohms.

Hope that helps.

Someone with hands on experience may be able to comment on the choice of box.

Cheers

Fine in principle.

Very little known about them at this stage. I haven't seen one yet.

Maybe you can get one and tell us all what it's like.
