I second that!! I believe the point of peoples opinions have been reiterated time and time again. And here i am again going to do it, hopefully for the last time.
Good gear + Good install + Tuning = Good system
crap gear + Good install + Tuning = crap to ok system
Good gear + Crap install + Crap tuning or none = crap install

I'v hear medium gear sound awesome.
While i'v heard awesome gear sound $h!t
Just remember you can't polish $h!t

there are thousands of threads with excellent advice on what to do with a system. take your car to a reputible place if you cant do the quality of an install to have the sound that you are striving for. otherwise come here ask for peoples opinions and hopefully you will depart with knowledge and not waste your time listening to stupid bloody posts.....much like this one

The thread is like a family having lunch down the beach on a picnic table .
They asked many people passing by if they would like to nible on some of the speaker vegies and rack of install lamb that was on offfer and then give a comment on how it could be improved and what ratio of vegies and lamb was considered a hearty meal.
Many nibled and many gave good oppinions.
But there was a flock of seagulls constantly picking at the food and pooing on the table.
At the end of the day the family began to analise the finding's and there was some good ideas about how to improve the food.
The seagulls squarking was eventually forgotton but their was still alot of poo on the table to remind the family of the seagulls dodgy attempt to wreck the food tasting.
The son said to the dad "why are those seagulls here to wreck the food tasting",then the dad replied "they are being dodgy because they cant help it son , they dont want anyone to help find and understand the secret recipe of speaker vegies and rack of install lamb............zion

What's ironic is this will probly now be the main thread people are referred to for info/feedback on said topic. laugh.gif

Question>whats the greatest part of someones instructions to to do a good install. Answer> do a good install.
This is what i see as ironic and stupid.
Its better to say , there are reasons why a door install is good and why a door install is bad, and then list them.
Most of the people that know about rear output dynamics, venting, sealing,on axis ,off axis speaker profiles are not posting thier findings.Maybe they cant put a 100% figure on said dynamics, but they sure can generalise and thus make people think of these things before they go into the door and start their creation.

>In car Speaker angles, this is tough to predict as many champs will tell you of a speakers performance with on and off axis qualities, but in any case the angle of the speaker changes how the rear output is pushed through your door.

>Rear output speaker dynamics is a science , if the rear output area is confined or restricted it will change the charectoristics of the speaker. Design here can yeild benifits or destroy good charecteristics.

>Sealing the door has excellent ability to seperate the front output of the speaker and rear output. If this is done then you wont hear the rear output mixing with your sound quality. This is fairly simple and straight forward in principle.

>Venting is very scientific and as it involves the speaker specs/design, speaker placement , rear output angles and the door capacity.Venting can produce exceptional gains in performance and can take a speaker to its performance limits.
More venting , less venting, no venting , smaller enclosure, larger enclosure, all these things are apart of the SQ ideal in door installations.

>Deadning can be scientific as much as it is simple, vibrations can travel through deadened parts and still hold some energy to begin to vibrate the undeadened parts.Doors are similar in design and so a general instruction can be given and a person then sees the cause and effect by some one identifying spercific areas.
Generally the more performance you get out of your door speakers the more you will have to deaden.

This thread is a SQ thread to discuss these properties and others properties..Thats all it is?.
Go and try and flame the beginners section next time.........zion

You bump a thread a month after it has died a slow, painful, and very overdue death, saying it needs to be closed? There for bringing it back to life?!?!? You = Smeg head....

Irony: the subtle opposite of what was intented. Therefore, this thread could be considered ironic (a steaming dog turd in the SQ forum...) however that advice is not.

As for the advice on sticking to the beginners section, that really IS ironic...

i voted 70% componenets 30% install
but am curious, what is being considered as good and bad installations.
i am thinking a sets performance will increase by a lot more if we talking free air on the floor with small gauge wire exposed and induction noise to dynamatted and mdf'ed door panel running from a balanced signal.
are we just talking about changing the installation from standard?

If I install my speakers in a certain configuration, will the THC content in zion's blood be reduced?
