hi.. when i bought my car it came with an eclipse headunit jap one.. which i cant understand a word.. and teh onli thing that works.. is..the cd and the md player.. the other options.. just give an error everytime.. aany ideas.. how i can use teh otehr features.. like mp3.. cuz i tried putitng an mp3 cd and it didnt work.. and dvd..??? thanks.. also it came with.. 6 inch coaxial in the front.. and tweeters.. attached to each coaxial.. .. jus wondering if thats a good setup or should i remove the coaxials.. and tweeters and install new.. splits... ??..

And if go for new splits.. woudl it be advisable to get 6.5" inch ones.. and get pods made for them... or just.. buy 6 "inch ones?? budget for.. splits.. is about 400..

Splits are always a good idea to replace coaxials.

$400 is plenety for a nice set of entry level splits. The new focal range might go alright

first of all i know its silly but do you really know that your headunit can play mp3 and perform the other features

a setup is only as good as u think it is, a coaxial with aimable tweeter is a good feature but seperate tweeters allow infintely more options (exageration)


you may be able to fit 6.5 with a little modification eg filing out, altho if not you should be able to find nice 6's altho i think there is more choice in 6.5

and ur cd player probably DOESNT play mp3, and almost definitely wont play dvds - hence the error message.

hey.. sorri the incorrect use on english.. umm the headunit.. actually says mp3 on it.. as well.. since its a touch screen one of its options is mp3.. so my guess was that it plays mp3.. the model is AVN7702D... sorry im kinda new to all of this prolli should have posted up in the begginers sections.. my bad...the DVD.. it plays. but it plays region 2 DVD.. .. what i mean to say is.. does anyone know.. how i could change it to play aussie DVD's?? ..

i guess ive got coaxials in my other car atm.. and im regretting putting them in.. most likely.. i had a bad setup.. thats why i was wondering about the setup with coaxials + tweeters attached to them...cuz i wanna start getting more into SQ.. than loudness and bass stuff..
