Zero character developement (did you even care when Han died ? Do you even know which one was Han ?).
Plot as thin as well washed cotton panties.
Too many "Why would you do that ?" scene (EG. The "hero" gets to drive homies Hulk-mobile and has only known him for an hour ?).
Skanks. Seriously guys... skanks.
Not enough variety in cars.. and I dont like 350Z.
No Tofu delivery car.. cardinal sin with drift in the title.. no Silvia either.
Slow as a wet week drift race scenes.. and too much (very obvious) CG.
I feel asleep halfway thru... try and russle up a legit copy of the live action Initial D (the one with the good subtitles, not the Quake Proof version) instead and leave this dog for DVD release.

Think of it as a comedy and the movie becomes that much more fun. Although I was falling asleep too. Until I found out you can just bolt up a whole bunch of stuff to a Mustang in a night.

Well I thought it was a S15 too.. but the engine they lift out of that and fit to that Mustang is an RB26DETT, not an SR20DET. I aint up on Nissan's, but I'm 99% sure S14/15 only came with SR20DE/T.
PS.Who's Shaun again ?

Jun 19 2006, 12:05 PM
yer no 6's for the s15 or any of the silvia/200sx or 180sx series but it is possible to put a rb26 in an s15

The story line was actually half decent this time.
It was pretty good, but not as good as Inital D i rekon.

sawe it again today...its good, picked up more cars the second time..
some trivia:
The VeilSide RX-7 driven by "Hans" used to be a special show car built by VeilSide and crowned "Best of Show 2005" at Tokyo Auto Salon, reportedly worth $150000. Just the custom leather interior reported cost $20000. Universal got it for $50000, and the crew promptly destroyed both the interior and exterior by repainting both (with spray-paint). (all value in us dollars

While still cool, drifting is not the fastest way to get around.
Couldn't stop laughing at the part where DK was chasing Han and Shaun through traffic, on a dead straight part of road, drifting through traffic.
Plot lines were pretty thin, but who couldn't have seen that coming...
Yet still a plenty entertaining movie
