Full Version: Digital Designs C4 Wins Multi-channel Amp of the Year

DD Phil
Our C4 has won "Multi-channel Amplifier of the year".

Here's what that had to say:

"A truly outstanding four-channel amplifier"
"stupendous power, solid build quality, excellent value"
"you may never need another amplifier again"

It beat out the Alpine 545, Celestra, Dragster, Eclipse, Jaycar and Soundstream, scoring 13 points more than any other amp tested.

The good news is an all new, more powerful C4a is landing in July!

just to stop any arguments forming...

phil, could u please post either JUST the scoring format (categories and range of points), or the scoring format AND scores so we can see how the C4 compared to other amps in each category of scoring?
Liquidity
Agreed. Its a bit misleading. It may have scored higher on build quality/sq, but its not (As an example) the most powerful 4 channel out of those listed brands.

and LOL. A quote from the official webpage at

The PCB board is reinforced with vegemite to eliminate vibrations and growling noises.

hilarious if you didnt know any vegemite other than "the spread"

Congradulations on the result smile.gif

Have had a look at the C4 amps myself for my brothers setup, and for some of my friends (maybe even myself for a second setup).

They really do appear to be a great value amplifier, with some nice output figures.

If thats the amp i'm thinking about, it would also be perfect for an active system, with the higher powered channels running mids, and the lower powered channels running tweeters.

Either way, no doubts that it would be an excellent amp.

Do you by any chance have a link to the test, or any scans of it if it's a magazine article? I'd be very interested to see how the different amps fared smile.gif

P.s. I ca't see any reasons for anyone to start any arguments in this thread. He stated he facts about the result, quotes direct from the comparison, and information about a next amp release. Nothing biased or unreasoanble at all in my books.

i wasnt having a go at phil, but certain other members seem to think it is their 'duty' to harass and bitch every time phil anounces any sort of success had by dd products.

and i forgot to say it before, but congratulations phil.

Yes, congratulations. I'm seriously considering this item for its small footprint smile.gif

congrats, if it's anything like the M1 then it would be a decent amp.

pretty the tests are inconclusive, it's pretty much only based on fetures.

the M1 was a nice sounding amp, better than the TR but far behind my rubi.
would have been interested to see a comparison how how it sounds would have been interesting.

yar good to see the test n stuff, but imo that test over biased the scores on input connectors. WAY over biased.
Alpine State of Mind
yeh and look who came third overall......its a pity tests like these dont reflect quality over time etc
mosoto
No score on that sheet for THD.
fury
No tests on that sheet show anything about the amplifier actually having been listened to.

Yeah good amps got one pawering my fronts and rears. They just have so much power.
