CSA also tested our tiny SS-1 in their Product of the Year Awards.

CSA said it "has the footprint about the size of a DVD case"

They measured it to make 696Wrms on 13.8V!

They said:

"If you could hold one of Digital Designs' SS-1 amplifiers in your hand while understanding that it is good for a real-world 700Wrms of grunt into one ohm, you'd be as amazed as we were. It is incredibly small and yet didn't even approach getting warm during our testing".

"There are so many applications where a cost-effective powerhouse like this can be applied, and the SS-1 is a true marker of where high-efficiency amplification is heading in the future".

Ultimately larger and more expensive amplifiers beat it for outright grunt, however the SS-1 still out-powered four much bigger amps, including popular models from Alpine, Eclipse, Infinity and Sony.

SS-1s are available now from all DD dealers and carry 12 month replacement warranty.

Heh heh..... one moulded into each front door would be part of one HELL of an active front stage. From an amp not much bigger than a standard passive crossover tongue.gif

A lot of competing amps certainly aren't looking as tasty as they used to be.

What, you mean an active front stage with subs in each door? Its not a full range amp.

hmm, could be fun. Power leads + rca's going through the door grommet together tongue.gif

That's what I plan for our new X5 SQ demo car, along with the matching SS4 full range 4 channels that's coming.
