I have Foxtel connected to my DVD/VCR combo which connects to my TV via 1 video and 2 audio RCA cables. If I bought a digital set-top box, where in the system would it plug into? Can it go through Foxtel?
Can someone explain it all and what connections are normally needed?

Foxtel is bringing out Foxtel digital later this year with over 100 channels, maybe worth waiting for it

i think you'll find a digital set top box would be useless for those with cable. Of course, anyone feel free to correct me, but all i could see that you could do is use it for free to air.

Flipmo, just go to google and type foxtel digital and confine it to websites within Australia.
There were some articles from The Age.

I've never actually seen or used a Digital Set Top box but its outputting digital signals like a DVD player right? So I'm assuming it has similar outputs... so...
Video - Probably an SVGA and a componenet vid output (same as RCA I think)..
Audio - An opical output and/or a digi coax output.... and possibly some RCA's for left+right..
I assume there'd be some configuration of these plugs you could use in your system... You could just run it into another AV channel on your TV if you have one?
I'm kinda guessing and making stuff up here
