ok, i posted this in the general discussion section before, saying it was going to have two round ports tuned to 30Hz (box size ~4.5cu.ft.) linkage
but i was thinking the other day, it would be nice having two ports, 1 for spl, one for daily...ive been reading that having a slot port that can be adjusted is good for this, so can anybody help me with designing and tuning a slot port....it will go in the 200mm bit underneath the baffle....

id say about 30Hz daily and 45Hz spl, am i right??

Is that 200mm face really firing on an angle towards the floor?

Thats pretty gay positioning if it is.

Just one woofer going in it?

Get the port on the same face as the woofer.

forget about dual ports, just make a removable port that will allow u to swap them out.

2 woofers, two 306cs...
yeah it is on a slop towards the ground, i was originally gunna have two round ports that extended out and up slightly...

how??

Make 2 port baffles with a different tuned port in each one, then swap between them when needed.

With 2 12s in one baffle though, u may be better off with a slot port in between them, rather than a round port.

A single rectangular removable port would be best, that way you can chop and change sizes easily.

Similar to this.

^ That is the link to a topic i started a while ago in the beginers section. It should help you figure out how to tune a slot port.

^ Should help explain what a removable port is.

ok then, so i changed the shape of my box, the fron small part that was angle forwards is now vertical, still 200mm, box size is about 4.4 cu.ft.

now in WinISD Beta, i had the slot are as 0.15m x 0.7m, and it gives me a slot depth of 2.449m...does this sound righ to you?? if not, what am i doing wrong??

If you wanted 30Hz, then they are correct figures.

To make the port shorter you need to reduce the port area. At 150mm x 700mm, that is a huge port area wise.

attatched is a box design for you to build with a slight angle for what ya want there.

just remember when making the slot port cause the baffle is angled the slot port must stay the same length all the way from end to end. this will make it a bit harder to cut the two slots for ya port. bit hard to explain the easy way to do it but im sure ya will work that bit out.

ok the port width will be 2.5'' make your port 11'' deep into the box. this will be tuned to 35Hz plenty good enough for ya music listening pleasure. and for SPL purposes it should peak at about 45Hz which will give you both a set-up for music and SPL.
