can any one please tell me or show a diagram of how to setup a dd9512e to a 1000w jaycar monobloc amp
to 1 ohm .. i have hooked it up before but not as 1 ohm im not sure how to thancks guys,,

and is it bad to onli run not even 1000w max thru tha sub for now .. ? amp upgrading soon
trism
you obviosly mean a 820wrms amp yes??

what is the vc config?? DVC 2ohm???

if so

EDIT:no its not bad to run only 820wrms thru the sub

(i am saying 820wrms, not 1000w max, coz you really should disregard the max rating...)

need to know what coils u have on the woofer.
georgeonboost
response have recently upgraded their amps (they are subject to change) as i also have the 1000wrms response amp...100wrms at 1ohm
spljet
yerh umm its a dd9512e.. dvc and .. um not to sure about the other details its the one thats got more ohm selection i think .. not to sure sorry but ..

i dont get that diagram i hooked it up liek that but it doesnt work .. ?

are those lines acuall wires "the ones not connectin to the amp" "positive to positive" "negative to negative"
nichy
are you sure jaycar have upgraded there amps?

cuz there was a big factory f*** up that make the stickers say
1x 1000RMS rather than 1x800RMS

i have one and so does my mate
Michae1
Dude, do u own a multimeter?

I cant believe that u have bought a fair whack of a woofer and u dont know the impedance of the coils.

Check out this link....it will show u how to measure the impedance of the coils.

U want to follow the very bottom instructions.

Do this, then come back and tell us how u went, then we can give u better advice on how to correctly wire the woofer up to your amp.
spljet
sorry .. its dual 1 ohm i jus dont know how to connect it .. "wiring it up as 1 ohm" i cant find a diagrm n e where for dual 1 ohm subs / speakers..
Liquidity
you cant.

Either series, 1+1, = 2 ohms
or, 1/total, which equals 1/1 + 1/1, = 1/2, or 0.5 ohms.

You cant wire your sub up to 1 ohm, unless you only use one voice coil, thus changing the characteristics of the subwoofer and halving its power handling.

also, there is no 1000wrms maximum jaycar amp.
There is one that makes 800wrms at 1ohm, 700wrms at 1ohm..
or the amp you probably have, that makes 1500wrms at 1ohm, and 1000wrms at 2ohm.

were you sold this combination? whoever sold it to you, had no idea what they were talking about with regards to ohm loading. if they did deliberately want to run you at 2ohms for better SQ (Debatable) they should have explained it to you.
spljet
so how would i go about connecting it .. ?
tha loudest way possible i guess
Charger
Safest way would be to wire it in series, for a 2ohm load. Not really suited to your amp. But if your sig is correct it will match the pair of 1500s you are planning to run, strapped.
lisarden
I don't know exactly your amp and sub, but I found that the sub is dual coil with 4 om. This means that each coil has an impedance of 4 om. If you connect 2 coil in parallel, you will get 2oms, if in serial - 8 om. If the sub was with 2oms, then it'd be possible to connect it in parallel and get 1 om load for the amp.
spljet
so how am i supposed to hook it up i dont know how i have it hooked up at the moment normaly as the commen using onli one voice coil positive to positive negative to negative , whats the loudest way i can hook it up as.. can somebody show me a diagram ?
Michae1

Like that.
spljet
thanks yeah it works but i dont hear any difference if any thing it doesn't sound as good .. maybe im wrong "sounds the same" ??
spljet
sorry i had it wired wrong i just fixed it .. its ok now .. thanks lol its better
