Hey guys finally getting onto my project at last. to install the iva d310e which i bought a while back now.
and most of the glove box compartment. literally everything i spose.
Now here is the problem.
Where do you put the processing unit??? its huge. please can somebody help. anyone here ho has done this installation before. please give me some advice. ripped the the bits out of the car in 30min. sat there thinking for 2 hours.
i wanted to hide it under the glovebox so its convenient with the old wirings, ie close proximity but there is so much wires in there. and the unit is big. i came across other positions like the boot and under the seats but then the radio antennae will need some kinda extension which i dunno what you do?cant put them under carpet because it needs a ventilatied area.
location location .. sigh dunno till a suitable place for it to go back under the bed it goes.
any help will be appreciaterd! and pics of the pros who have done this be4 would be nice.
Thank You!

I put mine in the side quarter panel besides my rear seats. I managed to get that, the PXA, and Ipod module in there

Or under seat works fine too

Me and brother inlaw bought one each, one for his 318i E46 he mounted his under the seat, but the cable is run from the seat go thru handbreak along the middle panel. he was too lazy to pull out the seat.
I took my seat out and mount it there and i have my cable secure run from the original spot , go under the carpet and up the glovebox. pic below
Click to view attachment For the antenna u need something like this, from JAP TO EURO plug, Dicksmith jaycar or any car audio has them.

Alrite i have finally installed it
its not under the seat. but its in the boot on the opposite side of the battery. ripped the entire interior apart to lay the wires down. didnt want to put it unde rhte seat because i know that with the unit there is alot of wires coming in and out.
i boughta radio extensioner for 9 bucks. at JB hi fi
and mounted the processor to a lil piece of flat mdf . to be carpeted and made into a lil comparment box for safe placing in the boot.
will post some pics up. on completeion. bad thing is with the deck is that when the screen opens your left hand on the steering wheel cant be there at 9 o clock. it will jam ERR>. otherwise nice piece of equipment to add. All not used wires coming out were taped and and allowed to drop into the false floor compartment to hide. powered both + N - directly to the battery.running across the floor of the spare wheel.
8 (most of which i got lazy) hour job! Toll: Many clips.
