about to dive in, got the factory steering wheel controls, but want to know which wire is which for the horn, etc.

anyone happen to know? just after a heads up to help make life easier.

got a meter??
Pulse-R
Yeah, got a meter, that's how I worked out the switches for the remote - all resistors to two pins on the clock ring - but I was hoping to get a clue before I start - as it will be next week, and I want something to think about for a couple of days.

BTW AE, do you have an adapter - like the peripheral electronics PESWIX, or similar?
the wheel has resistors for each switch on the remote, so shouldn't be any trouble to fit...

yep I do . hopwever I'm not sure it will work in your case.

the comp guys must be pushing you fro SWC as clint has to do the same thing.

I have a Pioneer at the Mo, with the IR SWC, but want to install the Alpine 7998, and not lose any points. Plus the factory controls give less obstruction to the sound (darn fat SRS steering wheels).

What does your interface require for inputs? - the PESWIX is only 1 wire with different resitances for each button - this is fine.

Did you end up having much luck with a PIC and the IR stuff?

two wires. one for signal (resistance ladder.) and one fof GND. from there it spits out an IR beam to the unit.

Nah, too much trouble, too little time.

email me. thats one that has a 'no net policy'

If its for the Alpine, I'll give you the programmed chips for not a huge amount...
Audio Express
that may be a good idea. adjust the levels and go.
