Panda?

Only 6 dB to go...

How do you fit 4 Z1's in a Street B car, let alone power them all.

Tell me about it! Bayside were dropping to 8.7V with only three Z1s on two batteries, although they weren't awesome batteries.

Perhaps because the Pandas hit in the high 70Hz region the current draw is lower?????

I think the $3000 Euro battery has something to do with it........

I had the same question!!!
yes the car was a panda.
6.5 db's to chase......... mmmm.. indeed...

you wouldn't have any spare db's i could borrow do you Rod?
does anyone know what team ground zero was running?
Angelo
The battery is a BOXTER model, the company is Dr Crankenstien.
If you can see a picture of it you will freak out, the terminals are the whole lenght of the battery and are 2" wide of solid copper.... and built to 800 cu in....
Roddas77
How do you fit 4 Z1's and 2 12's in a Panda and still be within Street Rules. Panda's aren't exactly big cars.

They usually mount the amplifiers under the rear seat in a Panda don't they? How legal is it to cut all the foam padding out from under the rear seat and mount the amplifers where the padding used to be? biggrin.gif

How much lower can the current draw be at 70Hz than it is at 60Hz? It would all depend on amplifier loading to get the most out of a system, which would have to be more angled at efficiency.

4 Z1's would conservatively draw over 1200A! That would have to be one hell of a battery to keep up with that. I draw 550A and drop down to 11V, I reckon the maximum current draw I could do without going backwards would be 800-900A, even then I'd be bordering on 9.5-10V which would have issues in itself.

Introducing the Boxter crankenstein

This this is a f***ing nut battery. Can't read the specs though cause i can't read danish lol

One of those would fit in the Mirage better than the 2150 does. It's longer and not as high! smile.gif

The specs are interesting I'm assuming that the CCA is supposed to be 1100 (Odyssey 2150 is 1090). 90Ah isn't that much (Odyssey 2150 is 100Ah). The HCA's is quite handy though, more than twice the 2150. But we all know it's not about specs, it's about how it performs and it must do one hell of a job.

It probably has a really low internal resistance and can probably hold 14V when fully charged (as the Odyssey only does 12.8V + surface charge when fully charged).
Andu
does it look like 5 batteries in parallel to anyone else? i'm not saying that is against the rules, merely trying to work out what the thing is lol
TEGBOY
OMG Andu is alive smile.gif
Shieldsy
does look that way.. Andrew
even if it was i'm pretty sure thats within the rules.
MMMM must be worth it if they can justify paying 3000Euro for it....
i'll go you halfs Rod.. you can have it for the 1st 6 months of the year and i'll have it for the other.. tongue.gif
sounds fair to me!!
fuzzy
The other question is what sort of box would they be runnin they gots da power but you wouldnt get those sort of numbers with just a square box.

They must do some serious testing
Shieldsy
Box was just your standard run of the mill aero port box.. so go figure.
obvisouly i don't know the internals of the box but yeh...
TEGBOY
I wonder if killer bees where inside that box smile.gif haha

hi,

well it's not a 2x but a 3x

with the 2x you only certified a score
and with a 3x you can make a wr tongue.gif

and for the battry
yes it's a crankenstein but we are very not so happy with

it's a very expensive battrie and you are not so loud that you think!!
when we put in the car we win 0.2db that all
