Hi guys, in the next few days i will be installing 6.5" splits in my 2000 commodore VT series2. Before i go pulling anything apart i wanted to check here to see if i have the correct method for getting access to the factory location of the tweeters. I have read the PDF file on the dash setup that is available on this forum, and i think ive got it down, just want to confirm that these are the steps.
Drivers Side:
1. Remove 3 screws on side of dash

2. Remove screw under the previously removed cover and unclip/remove demister and tweeter cover assembly.

Passenger Side:
Same as above, but you need to remove these 4 screws on the inside of the glovebox in step 1 also

Can someone whose done this please confirm these steps?

Also, when i get it uncovered, will it be simple to run the tweeter wires? (ie is there an 'obvious' path) or is there a special path that needs to be followed?

Cheers,
Davey

PS i plan on making a longer post with photos as i do it and a headunit so everyone else who comes looking can find it easily!

You've got it all correct so far.

The panels that cover the tweeters just have that one screw then they clip out.

To make it easier to get to those four screws on the passenger side drop out the glove box. There will be a plastic pin in the right hand side right down the back of the glove box. Lever that out with a screwdriver and the glove box will come out.

Just run the tweeter wires down behind the trim on each end of the dash.

and don't lever that plate over the tweeter up - it snaps the clips! pull it straight towards you (cover the top with rags or something so you don't scratch the crap outta it!)
