Is it for road use? Sometimes minor items like seatbelts etc must be replaced, sometimes indicators have to have a oragne cover on them, etc etc.

freight - $1900.
tarriff/gst - $800
then there is the L->R swap if its less than 30 yrs old. thats 8-12k on its own.
what are you thinking of? ( '62 bubbletop impala?)

jpn is a bit cheaper for freight.
best to contact a freight forwarder that ships fromt eh west coast of USA (San Francisco or the like) and get a accurate quote on it.
BEFORE you do anything though get an import approval from DOTARS and make sure you can bring it in.
from there - buy your car - get it shipped and then pay the tarrif and then comply it. then enjoy. (yes I have done this a few times

where the minor details have to be changed ie seat belts etc......

yeah, found a couple that are in ok condition. not really want immaculate, just drivable. had a look at ebay us, and a few other us sites.they are between 1800 and 5000 US dollar in that condition, so basicaly up to around 8-9k plus 4k transportation. over here for one in the same condition, 15k, so it will be cheaper to get one imported. i know about left to right conversion, but that will happen very downt he track..
nick. basically i dont want one that is already done, coz i want to do it in my own style, and i dont wanna spend that much just to strip it back and redo it all.

at that age you DO NOT need to swap it. check DOTARS and local tpt regs.
