The interior looks very nice. I bags NOT being the first to pull one apart. It does appear to have a centre channel aswell and an AUX input.
Hmmmm, wonder who will be the first creative one to modify... or Alpine Mobile-Hub and the RF 3SIXTY, JL Cleanswep units are going to be very popular

Just want to add a bit here, since it's related to the VE in some way...

I came across this blue car late this afternoon near the Melbourne Uni Square. So that makes it my 2nd sighting of the new VE, only this time I was able to look in much, much, much greater detail (unfortunately I only looked at the exterior, cause I figured by now most of you would've sen the interior shots supplied by the media).
Well, since I'm not really a fan of both Holden and Ford large cars, I couldn't say whether I can warm up to the new VE. I'll say this though: while the front and back of the new VE do resemble the BA Falcon (and its later revisions) the whole proportion of the car does look better compared to the Falcon. You could almost look at it this way: if Ford was more adventurous and brave enough to ditch the midsection of the BA Falcon that was carried over from the AU Falcon and came up with its own at the time of the BA's unveiling, the BA could've look very much like this blue car. The designs of the roofline, beltline and door skins of the BA Falcon onwards were carried over from the AU due to numerous reasons, such as production costs and budget IIRC and that's why while it looks good on the front and back when viewed from the side the current Falcon seems odd.
And another thing: What's with the Chevrolet badge? I assume that this will be an export model? Does Holden export the SS overseas?
Anyhow, enjoy the pics.
Cheers,
Bon

yeah been there for about 4 years now!
i immedietly thought of a SQ system when i seen the VE's coming down the line... nice speaker positions, and i heard something about the "upgrade" abilities of the blaupunkt headunit (as yes, it has all the air con controls etc built it) DVD system is an available option on all models, and theres a stock centre speaker in the dash on all cars above the Omega (not sure what it does, but could come in handy anyway!)
oh, and the battery is in the boot!! stock on all cars!!

Hmm its odd that the blue VE has chevy badges yet it is RHD? All export models are LHD that go to Saudi Arabia. Maybe its to throw the average Joe off the fact that its the new Holden

I don't like the way manufacturers are heading with inbuilt stereos... Atleast these new ones are all MP3 CD compatible (or so I was told).

Car manufacturers are only interested in new car sales. Which realistically is pretty naive because private buyers look to buy a car partially based on resale. Companies like holden and ford however are more interested in fleet sales and "sports car" sales most people who buy HSVs and FPV vehicles are die in the wool ford or holden fans and arent too concerned...
It would be nice if bosch would come out with a single din screen and control for the climate control etc. But they wont. The head unit will be a typical Bosch/Blaupunkt unit - 2 steps ahead in wank factor features and 5 steps behind in reliability and proper functionality features

We've already seen Commodores in the Nascars in australia (back in the day when we had Nascar racing stupid bloody worthless thunderdome...) how ever I dont think they ever raced it. One of the teams built one or two VT commodore based nascars and then a couple of teaps built monaro based nascars. by based i mean they were made to look like cause as most of you would know nothing of the car is actually made from the car its based on the whole car is hand fabricated and they are in fact larger...
Maybe one day the 'Dome will be back in action for racing till then I enjoy going down to see the boy on track days and getting the occasional hot lap or two (really fu(king scary in a HQ more so than the Auscars if you ask me...)

I'm confident that Holden definitely had the idea to export these in mind... Check out the dash and how modular it looks. Not like the VT-X where the top part of the dash is one piece- VE was made for LHD swaps! Even the power window switch is in the centre of the console, not biased towards the driver like VY-Zs.
