Charger
Pair of DD Z1s and a DD 9915. Dual 1ohm coils always a good combo. Run the amps strapped at 2ohms daily and .5 for burps.

Budget around 6k but it doesn't stop there, don't forget battery, cabling, enclosure etc. It soon all adds up.
Woob
DD 3515 and 2 Response 1500W monoblocks strapped and a nice sub box should see 143dB EASILY in a Charade

add a D31 Yellow top battery
4ga from main batt to Optima for charging
battery isolator
a few fuses and a bit of 0ga wiring n some lugs
some sound deadener

shouldnt cost more than about $2700 smile.gif

could een get closer to the 150dB mark with enough preparing biggrin.gif
mr_g100
2700 including sub amp battery and cabeling
Damn thats awsome
lol you gotta love mini cars aye
edit: stupid question, but where can I buy DD gear from
Woob
DD_Phil will point you to someone close by smile.gif give him a pm (or he's bound to see this thread soon)

What area of Queensland?

What's your budget? Even a 1015 or 2515 could do the job, depending on amp(s).

A customer on the Gold Coast runs two 1010s and a C2 in an Excel, he was getting mid 140s for under $1000.

Get down to Cartunez on the coast.

I figured you wanted a 15 for that Autobarn SPL class?

If not, go with 1012s, the 12" version, just as fast and punchy, but louder than, the 10s.

I'd see Brad at Car Tunez, he'll sort you out.

what are the 1015a's like would still like a 15 for some reason
my 15 still keeps up with my tech so f*** it 15=louder (i think)
also whats this about Power Handling RMS/Music/Peak
500/1000/2000
found on DD website os 1000 what i normally use? or what tongue.gif dont get me wrong i know the diffrence between RMS and Peak just dunno what Music is?
nate
DD Phil
RMS - what it will take playing a full sine wave continuously
MUSIC - recommended continuous amplifier power for music
PEAK - SPL "burps"

I've run 2600Wrms into a pair of 1000s before, when Autosalon tested the 1008 we ran over a 700Wrms pure sine wave for several minutes non stop….

Phil

spl burps thats after you've had the car Db tested to see frequency its best at
then you make cd with that on
for comp you Burp it ?
dont totaly understand burping though
oh and what are the 2515's like better or not?
cheers

The 1000 range has a single 4 ohm coil, steel frame and 600Wpower handling
The 2500 range has dual 4 ohm coils, a cast basket and 1000W power handling

Dual coils can be an advantage if you are running an amp that makes power at lower impedances.

Phil
mr_g100
what the diffrence in price?i know the 1015s are $329 but how much for the 2515? and even the 3515?
what amp would be best? would like to keep it as cheep as possible aiight
(let me guess everyones gonna say the Jaycar mono 1500W@1ohm)
found this amp
the DD M1a
1200WRMS perfect 4 the 3515d now all i need is prices on them and i can afford them smile.gif
DD Phil
Here's our whole pricelist, it's also on FHRX.

Phil
mr_g100
lol i think the 3515 and 2515 are a little out of my price range lol
though i'm thinking the 1015 is still a good budget sub
am i right?
and i'm guessing its just a singe 4ohm voicecoil so i'm guessing that the DD MB2 will be best and may still be in my price range
with 500wrms be ok in a 600wrms sub or am i overdriving the amp?
if so what other amps out there are capable of doing the job around the same price bracket
are there any cheaper amps that'll do the job or what?
aiight
cheers
Nate
mr_g100
just wondering if anyone will help out?
xplodea
if you are only after a budget set up, why are you over looking jaycar? It boasts 800wrms at 4 ohm, which would suit your 1015 perfectly.

When you are asking these questions it sounds as though you are asking our permission, the best advice i can give you is go out and demo the subs for yourself, its the only way you will know for yourself.

James.

P.S. there is much more invloved then getting a sub and an amp and pushing the on button. You have to look at inclosure size/cost, wiring, sound deadening etc. Just something to think about. SPL isnt a cheap "sport."
DD Phil
Don't worry about a 500W amp being "over driven" by a 600W woofer, it doesn't work that way.

Even if a woofer can handle 600Wrms, it will still run fine off a 100W amp.

Phil
mr_g100
lol i just started thinking and i thought about keeping my Pioneer TS-W38C and just bumping up the power lol but then again if i was to get the jaycar mono 800wrms is heaps 4 a 350wrms sub lol i think its a 700w max lol lets see if it'll live or not
though on the other hand getting the 1015 would be awsome and if i was able to afford the 2515a and jay car amp that would be even better
in my understanding i'm thinking that the 2515a is dual 4ohm voice coil then when wired in paralel it would have a 2 ohm load
this in turn would mean that the amp would be outputting around 1000Wrms and that would equal some serious sound in a car as little as mine
dunno yet but if i'm able to sell my sub and amp as a combo 4 around 450 (pioneer GM-5000T amp(around 400wrms) and Pioneer TS-W38C(15inch)) then get a pretty good tax return (around 750) then i may be have some serious gear comming my way lol
my rant lol
