BIG BAD CHEVY
G'day pals

Just looking for some computer expertise... I have Windows Media Centre which records television as a DVR-MS file, which is a massive file taking up heaps of room and not easy to work with.... Which brings me to my question!!

Does anyone know of a GOOD program for converting these files to say... WMV's or MOV files or the like??

I've tried dCut and couldnt make it work!!

ANY TIPS???? looking for a whole heap of ideas so i can try a few out for the one that suits me, all i want is to convert them SURELY thats not too much to ask!!

do you want to ultimately burn them to dvd?

or just move them so you can watch them later.

i currently have more than 170movies on my media centre, and more than 200seasons of different tv shows. mostly avi's as they're eaiser to work with.

a few 1080i ts, mov files, mpg, all the formats that aren't standardly supported.

but yeh, what's your final aim once they're converted.

i have reasonably large storage, a 200gig hard drive and a 250 gig removable hard drive but DVR-MS is about 5.5 gig for 1 movie so basically just looking to make my hard drive space go further!!

basically i want to record them then convert them to a smaller file, which if i want to i can burn to dvd at anytime but basically just SHRINK IT!! im just about to try Digital Media Converter but i heard its slow.....

ANY ALTERNATIVES?????????????? CMOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!
