okay, looking to update some old 2000 quickbooks pro files to quickbooks accounting 2006/07 spec.
Help file tells me to re-install 2006/07 and upgrade the old 8 files "during" the installation.
anyone know another way? For the life of me, cant find the original 2006/07 cd.

Trying to just open it in 2006 tells me i'm in the wrong "flavour".
tells me to open a help file before upgrading, and the help file tells me to re-install 2006.

guys, anyone here point me towards a reliable help community? Their tech support line is $4.90 per minute...

The yahoo computer forums are usually good value for help, aslong as you dont get into one where they are a bunch of stuck up a$$holes

I'm not sure, but have you been posting there already?

yeah, once or twice.
found out today that apprently you cant upgrade from old version using "accounting". you need to be using at least "plus".

Their setup is a f***ing rort. $5 per minute help line, or a $350 odd p.a "tech support" sign up fee. Add about $1k on top for "emergency data recovery", and f*** the fact you already spent about $350 per licence.

Yeah, thought it might have been you there on the forums.
I didn't think there would be too many people on a US forum who had exactly the same problem that you've outlined AND beginning their post with "G'day" tongue.gif

Don't know much about the app myself, but I seen there were a few conversion tools floating around.
Is it possible to convert your data into, say, a CSV, then import it back into the new version of Quickbooks?

Just throwing some ideas around, no doubt you've already thought of plenty.

LOL i was wondering what gave me away.
