Been running a Kicker KX400.1 Monoblock amp for my subs since i got my gear.

A couple of weeks ago i got a 2nd Kicker amp to run my in car speakers from.

I upgraded my power cable to be 0awg from battery to distro block, and then 4awg to each amp.

Since the upgrade, when ever i take my system over Vol 20 (out of 50) the KX400.1 goes into protection, then normal, protect, normal with every bass beat.

Its a concern to me as im an SPL nut and i really dont want my woofers cutting out in the middle of a burp...

Im already running 0awg as my earths
time for a new battery?

check to make sure your earth is making a good connection to the chassis.

I've had similar problems and this was the cause.

One way you can check your amps earth is feel it and if it is warm after cranking it, good chance its not making a good connection.

Check the basic 1st like earths at the battery and at the amps.
yes get your battery checked.
aslo just make sure no one has wined up the gain on that amp causeing it to go in to protection.
Make sure the wires are all surce aswell.

Personally I think you should put a Digital Multi Meter on the power terminals of the sub amp and check the voltage, then turn on the system and turn it up to the point where the subs 'cut out' and see where the voltage is at. Hope that helps you out.
