Hi
asking the collective genius here about the smallest size amps on the market, due to space being tight in my car [928S4].
They will need to power Rainbow Profi 3 way kickbass and the new Pioneer 8" shallow mount subs x 2.
HU is the Pioneer avh5750.
Not looking for huge power, Not yet deaf!!
Not much more room than a Melbourne Melways under the seats, so far only Genesis has anything that thin at 38mm. I may be able to fit some long but not to deep amps along the reear qtr panels
Is there any others in the great unknown/
thanks
Nigel

alpine pdx series amps
they make a 4x 150watts rms, 1000 x 1 watt rms and a 2 x150watt rms
should be perfect for your application

Also look at Audio System amps, they have quite a small footprint. Oh, and what car did you say it was? 928....thats a Porsche?

Might also want to check out the new DD amps, they are tiny and produce quite big numbers!

yeah Alpine, DD and Blau all have very small amps.
Alpine would be the pick of the bunch cause there so damn sexy, the DD if there as good as there other amps should come pretty close to sounding as good maybe better but looks wise.. not there.
the blau are not to bad but getting a little long in the tooth these days.

keep in mind its certainely a possibility to hide amps BEHIND trim panels. Most cars have some space behind there....not sure about porsche's.

My Audio Sys isnt small

Its like twice as long as a PDX. The little "girly power" ones are though.

The only Alphasonik amps Ive seen are the size of the width of a small car! Not exactly tiny.
Id be going PDX too. And mounting them into your door panels. Waaayyyy sexy.

Or Helix amps? I figure since Porsche is a german car, might as well get a german amp?

They're very slim and output respectable watts. Don't know where to get one here, though...
If you're wondering about Helix, have a look at their competition series amp by clicking
hereCheers,

I've seen a couple of sinfoni amps, and from memory I think they aren't too tall.
Also probably the sexiest looking amp's i've ever seen as well (excepting maybe some of those georgeous soundstream ones!).
By all reports they sound fantastic.
Some other amps that have impressed me with their compactness are:
* Audison's SRx line
* Vibe's Blackbox line

thanks to all who have replied. This has given me some more avenues to try.
Certainly better, or more practical than cutting and lowering the floor below the seats!
Again thanks for the info
