Hi,

I was wondering if anyone have heard good things from this speedo or have it. Its from jaycar electronics. I just want to know if its accurate and if its easy to install.

accuracy depends on a number of factors. Tyre wear, external rotating diameter, correct installation and setup.

Unit should be fine, but it only goes up to 160 tongue.gif

u can get defi' heads up displays for just around $300 new i think...but ive seen them go for 150 2nd hand often. they're called vsd's i think.
digital, right infront of u. can also display rpm and things i think. very accurate tho. also monitors gauges if u have defi electrical gauges on heads up display

With the accuracy, Does it have its own speed detector, or does it hook up to existing speedo? If anything, ill also get the speed corrector from jaycar coz my current speedo is 10km faster than actual speed. laugh.gif

yes, it has its own detector.
but google the "Yellow box" device. It alters pulses to the dash so you can fine tune your speedo, and comes with formulas for calculating the percentage difference, you just punch in stock rolling diamter, and actual rolling diameter.

i reckon go for it

A bit more expensive option, but I got a RoadAngel Evo that is a digital speedo (via GPS), and gives all sorts of safety alerts

www.roadangel.com.au (I got it for 250)

gps speedo's are more accurate than the traditional cable ones. they just dont update as much (well, most of them).

I'm surprised more manufacturers havn't gone for heads up display's. Especially with todays speed cameras here in Victoria, they would be a great addition.
