IMO Hertz is fantastic value for money, and very decent SQ aswell. For volume though... DD is the only way to go, but they don't sound particually plesant.

ATT as uve been corrected in ur other thread..The amp u mentioned should be Audison not Audiosn.
For the splits..U should audition them both and buy the one that suit ur taste

also whats ur budget?Hertz do have a top end range for the splits so yeah cant really say which one is better only based on their brands.

well i been quoted 1000 for a audison Lrx 4 channel and either a pair of Hertz Hi Energy Coax and a pair of Hertz Hi energy 6.5" Splits. or the same thing but DD's
My budget on a 4 channel amp and front and back speakers is about $1200

If I'm in ur position, then I wouldnt bother with the rear fill for the moment. Just focusing more on the front 1st and then later on u could add a rear fill if u like, but generally speaking, u r the driver most of the time, so yeah dont worry about the rear passangers

With the splits..I'm not really familiar with Hertz Hi Energy, so I'll let the others comment on this one. The DD splits on the other hand, looks pretty solid and based on people experienced here, all positive

EDIT: Here is a thread about DD splits few days or week ago

Sorry to hijack this thread.... but I have a question about the Hertz Hi Energy 6.5 splits.
How would the Hertz splits sound (nominal 125W, peak 250W, 92dB/SPL, Freq Range 50Hz - 22kHz, 4ohm) on an Audison SRx3 amp (2x75W 1x250W, 95dB)?? Is it underpowered and will you guys recommend this setup?
Otherwise I plan to change the splits to the Focalv2 Splits which takes in 75W rms (nominal).
Please advice.
Cheers
Bern.

From the comments of others, i'd say neither is the best you can get id you are after a purely sq setup.
However, that's not to say they aren't very good, just that you can probably do better.
If you want something that sounds fairly nice and goes real loud, then both are probably fairly suitable.
I've heard the Hertz (as a 15") sub and splits in a friends car. The sub went real deep, and real loud - this I can confirm. Although it was in a ported box, it's output was very close to my 12" IDMAX off similar power (sealed). The splits are very nice for the money. I heard them only in an undeadened door, not properly sealed (it was a brief test) and they sounded bloody good considering the conditions.
Give it a proper install and i've no doubt that you could get some excellent results.
Haven't heard the DD splits, so I cannot comment on these - I have heard good things about them though.

I'm running the Hertz HSK 165 (Hi Energy) splits atm off 75wrms Audiobahn A6004T amp. They're great for their price, but I'm lookign at upgrading at the moment. The tweeters harshness at times has worn me down, and I'm looking at going DLS for the soft silk dome tweeters. No complaints at all with the woofer! Have a listen to them yourself and see what you think.

Our old models were very favourably reviewed. The new models, with cast frames, bigger coils/motors and the new 28mm low fs tweeter are shipping now.
See a dealer and have a listen for yourself.
