Hi Guys

Im looking at two of these amps to possibly run my two t4 woofers ( 900rms each ) but im not to sure on their sound quality.

Are they really as bad as people say they are?

Will these amps handle spl comps?

I dont really have a huge budget for my amps as my subs cost me an arm and a leg.

mm, not really an SQ question..should really be in the general section..

what VC config are they??

look at the DD M1a its about $800 and and puts out 1200wrms into a 1ohm load...

or save up a bit more and get the M2a....1700wrms into a 1 ohm load, its RRP is 1100 but you should be able to pick it up for 1000....

It is an SQ question cause im asking about the sound quality the amp will produce.

Have a hunt around the FS forum. There is always a few bargins around. I picked up an audison VRx for about 1k, which is just over your budget, and it runs atm @ 1000wrms at 2 ohms, not that I use nearly anything close to that.

the m2a sounds like a really good option

Don't be afraid to try something different either.

I'm currently running the E-audio 280 and 480 amps for both my front stage and sub. They don't generate noise, nor do they colour the sound and they are incredibly powerful for both their size and their price.

My own opinion aside they have also did very well in the first NSW CAASQ comp, with my car taking first and all other judging sheets showing that there was no induced noise etc.

Talk to Shieldsy about the exact pricing, but I know that the 2x80wrms amp is only around the $300 mark and the 4x80wrms amp is around the $500 mark and the 1x1000wrms amp is around the $6-700 mark. And given that the birth sheets show each of these amps putting out over 100wrms at 4 ohms, and 1100 wrms on the monoblock at 4 ohms I would definately say that they are also good bang for buck.

Just my 2c

search the sq forums for jaycar.....theres your answer.....im sorry but you really sould have a research.....

the jaycar subs wont win you any sq comps, ppl claim that there is a fair bit of noise induced etc etc etc....

they arent sq amps, they are good budget amps that produce alot of power for not alot of money, but dont have impressive dampening factors, slew rates THD ratios etc etc as dedicated sq amps....ot even dedicated sq amps, pretty much any amp that is of good quality..... bomb.gif bomb.gif bomb.gif

Im not to sure of there SQ qualitys but i run two of these amps and they go very loud, not the clearest sound in the world but definatly good bang for buck!
