i'm looking to get good set of speakers,

thinking to buy focal be no.6 atm, without the crossblock, anybody has experience with the gear?
gonna run the speakers from Audison VRX4.300 either active or with custom passives

or what other option do I have? can't think of anything else atm

retail price on focal be is $2299, any body knows where i can get it cheaper?

Have you heard the Focals yet? I know they are a tough unit to audition, but that sort of money shouldnt be thrown around based simply around people's opinions. You really need to sit and listen.



Also, going active may be the way here if its your preference. Depending on how much you want to spend, building a custom passive would require IMO at least the same cost of the shelf passive, if not more, to get a noticeable difference in sound out of them. And those passives have had a massive amount of quality and R&D poured into them!

yes i have listened the focal with custom passives, powered from Audison Sedici, they sound amazing, the best sound i have ever heard so far. i don't know that was because of the custom passives, or the speakers themselves were great, so confused.. hehe

i have listened to some of those speakers, and I still like the focal best, but once again that could be because of the custom passives. I was told the rainbow speakers are really good, but they are also much more expensive then the focal Be, would love to listen to those speakers. Yea, i'll come to the next SQ comp, hopefully i'll get more idea on what i want
