Hey gang,

When it comes to car audio, I like to plan ahead. Currently I'm looking at buying my mates '91 Cressida Grande and at the same time, I'm planning the sound system for it too.

My question is, does anyone happen to know if a standard rectangular MDF, 4 cubic inch enclosure fitting a 15" sub with a mounting depth of 13.5 inches would fit into the boot of a '91 cressie? I tried doing a bit of research on the boot size and all I could find is that the boot is roughly 15 cubes. The (cubic) size I'm not too worried about, it's the mounting depth of the sub (which I'm not going to mention in fear of being convinced to buy a similar sub closer to home tongue.gif). Ok fine I'll tell ya tongue.gif I'm pretty set on getting an RE '06 XXX15 in the not too distant future. Aint gunna be easy but hey, it'll be worth it.

So yeah, if anyone has had any experience with an install in a 1990-1993 cressie before, or knows the dimensions of the boot (especially the depth), any feedback would be awesome!

Cheers,
Luke.

Cressidas have a pitiful boot for a car their size.

It does have a decent sized opening but the boot itself is very shallow. There is also very little room between the two wheel arches.

4ft^3 should fit without a drama if you build it properly, however, if you're trying to integrate it to be a neat install this is where you could come into problems because the box will probably end up looking like it's just sitting there.

Edit: You could try popping over to http://www.toyotacressida.net and ask in the audio section there.

I'm not really fussed on how the enclosure looks. In my mind I had imagined that it would just look like it was sitting there tongue.gif As long as it sounds good, that's all I really care about, which is why I want to try and fit the optimal enclosure size for this sub (4ft^3).

I asked the guys at the cressida forum. They seemed to think it would fit but couldn't really give a definate answer.

Thanks for the picture and the replies yahoo.gif

Yeah go over to www.thermactor.net and ask on their forums, you'll get a dozen replies.
