I’ve recently upgraded my Head Deck & Door Speakers and an Amp, but I’m thinking about installing some more speakers in the storage compartments under the rear seat to add a bit more bass.

The dimensions I’ve got to play with are approximately: 40cm Long X 20cm Wide X 15cm Deep (About 12Litres) maybe more.

What would be better to complete my car stereo:

Pioneer TS-D691S 6x9’s or (350W / 80W RMS)
http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_ent...691S/index.html

Pioneer TS-A2011 8” Speakers (350W / 90W RMS)
http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_ent...2011/index.html

Or if they will fit:

Pioneer TS-SW1041D 10” Shallow Subwoofer (1000W / 250W RMS)
http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_ent...041D/index.html
Kicker 8” Solo-Baric L7 S8L7 Square Sub Woofer (900W / 450W RMS?)

What do you think?

i would try for a 8"sub

rember about excursion as well won't do the speaker any good if its slapping into the bottom of the seat. would it be possible to extend the box out behind the seat and raise the floor a bit? Probably best to fibreglass if you can.

Crystal COMP 8

RE Audio RE8 v2

Pioneer TS-SW841D

Vibe Exact 8

I'd agree, 6X9's are wasted under a seat. A sub'd be a much better option...

personally id choose the kicker L7 8inch

i havent heard this size of L7 but going by the bigger versions these subs are very impressive.

Yeah I thought the 6X9's would be no good... Sub is definitely the way to go.

An 8" would probably fit quite easily - I didn't realise Pioneer made a Shallow 8" - are they available to Purchase in Australia?

Which of the Subs listed above would be the best choice? (or are they all basically the same).

id go the ID8's or the Diamond Audio 8's - for awesome SQ in sealed enclosures

Is an SQ 8 really necessary though, considering, no offense, his ass is gonna be ontop of it? Would a low powered average sub, rather than a really good SQ sub suffice better?

Nope!

If anything there is less between you and the sub, so you should pick imperfections even easier i'd assume.

I'll second the vote on the ID8 !! My rough calculations show it seems to work best in 8L-10L sealed, which is more or less a perfect match for the space you have availiable. Also the most sensitive 8" I know off, so it wont be quite as power-needy as most 8's (they tend to need alot of power to make noise).
