Our 2500s are pretty hard to beat for the $$$. Made in the USA, 1000Wrms etc.

The Oz is now $719 RRP, so you would have find one second hand. In which case, get in fast, because they tend to be very popular (and for damn good reason smile.gif).

For starters,
what vehicle,

it's not good just buying a supposedly SQ sub, if it doesn't fit or isn't suitable for your car.

You can't just go buy a theoretically best SQ sub, then stick it in any car and expect it to be the best!!
won't work!

I need to know.

What vehicle,
How big is it?
is custom fitting required or will a regular box fit?
How much power do you want to have available to it?
Have you got a upgraded Battery?
Is your Alternator up to spec? (what current is it?)
is Output or Pure SQ important?
Or do you want a Mix of Output and SQ? If so, what ratio? (like 5/5, 2/8 ect output vs sq)

Will you have a decent front stage? Good midbass capability? (IE: 6.5" speakers or bigger)

Oz Matrix (assuming you can still get them at that price), IDQ, Rainbow Hammer (not sure of exact price).

This would be my shortlist at that price point.

Supposedly there are some recent released by eclipse that are quite impressive also.

I won't go into why on these forums though...

DLS Reference Magnesium MW12 comes in at $599.

Pretty sure the the non magnesium reference subs or the 10" magnesium sub, or the model with the single magnet (MW112) may well come in at below $500.

May be nice to consider smile.gif

it is going into a 200sx i am wanting to put it in a standard box for a while then when i can afford it get a custom box set up. i dont care about how much power it will use, just looking at the moment but if i have to upgrade parts i will.

Boston G2 or G5? They don't need big boxes. I've got 2 G5 10s in my GTR (got a tiny boot) and they go in nicely and leaves me with some bootspace too.

add Infinity Perfect 12.1 to the list
