im alos curious as to what the woofers ae like, they were released without much buzz or hype..

Prefer these over most of the speakers out there. You have a PM biggrin.gif

Where I find the elate lacking in the mid, there is no question regarding these. They are very nice. The mid would be comparable to the eton discovery from memory. Tweet sounds like the bigger supremo, just smaller. I like it and I wont be changing any time soon. Only thing I'd change at the moment is possibly amplification and transport as mine is very limited.

Here are some photo's

Has anybody heard or has the Supremo 9" midbass?

I am wanting to get a 2 way setup with the 9" and Supremo tweeter, but Im not sure if there would be too big a gap in the frequency range between the tweeter and a 9" midbass for them to work well?

I know the tweeter plays down to 1400hz and the woofer I assume from the Elate 9" plays up to around 3000hz. So I know there should be no gap, but just because they can meet each other, doesnt mean they will sound as good.

Thanks

Dave

I think something to do with that was the set that I got were supposed to go into another car which was to be a demo, then the skirmish with Israel and lebanon sort of made supply a little difficult seeing as they are made in israel. btw retail is $1395 for the set 6.

Sorry I can't help you with the 9's as I haven't heard em.

Maybe shoot an email to Phil Kent. Maybe someone down in VIc has a set you can demo. I'm in NSW, so it may be a bit far for you to drive.

This is the blurb from Morels website:

QUOTE
The Supremo 2-way system offers car audio enthusiasts a combination of state-of-the-art technological savvy and superior sound reproduction. Designed to confront the unique challenges of car audio, the Supremo woofers deliver unsurpassed performance – representing the pinnacle of Morel's component line.

Supremo is based on Morel's linear dynamic under-hung voice coil configuration, which allows the voice coil to move in a significantly higher magnetic field and remain there during operation. This configuration enables linear excursion of the coil and higher magnetic flux, eliminating inter-modulation distortion while considerably improving the dynamic range, transient response and efficiency.

Supremo SW woofers employ an aerodynamic die-cast Uniflow chassis to minimize sound reflection distortion and provide shallow mounting capabilities. The 3" EVC Hexatech voice coil, coupled with its unique Hybrid magnet motor structure (combined ferrite and neodymium magnets) produces remarkably high power capabilities, high efficiency, as well as a wide and natural dynamic range. Supremo SW woofers are available in 5", 6" and 9".

Morel's unique C.A.R filter (Controlled Acoustic Resistance) enables the Supremo SW woofers to perform well in "free-air", or infinite baffle environments, thus providing acoustical accuracy and greater cone movement control.

The Supremo 2-way component system has been engineered as an active speaker system that maximizes the full potential of its drivers and enables installers to employ various frequency cut-off points and slopes.

Not possible to run them passive as there is no crossover supplied. They are designed as an active set, however I believe that Morel may be developing a passive crossover in the future. Maybe get in contact with Phil Kent and ask him. I'm running them active at the moment. May move to custom passive in the future, however I really want to explore active first until I'm 100% happy with them.

Yeah, will do, cheers.

If you don't mind me asking, what is it that your are unhappy about?

To be honest not much. It's more an issue with the deck, but check out the thread about this which I've just posted.
