I have finished sound deadening my two front doors and the boot and have deadening left over. I thought about doing the firewall but after pulling the carpet out yesterday I found there is massive amounts of deadening from the factory anyway so it wouldnt be worth it. I current have the roof lining out of the car so I can deaden the roof, is this worthwhile? I also noticed that the bracing in the roof is hollow, is it worth filling with expandable foam, this is what I did to the boot frame.
The car is an EA fairmont Ghia, I havent done the rear doors, should I bother?

roof is always good. it made u huge difference on pigphama's au wagon but he actually lost db from it though

can you describe the huge differance? less outside noise or more response for certain frequencies?
What about expandable foam in the roof cavities?

I'd be interested to know too

I'll be setting up system/car soonish and am considering sound proofing just about every panel on the inside of the car ie, doors, roof, floor and boot. Hope I don't warp the roof

Actually, that'd be pretty cool.....

I've decided to sound deaden the roof, and I have taken the velour off the roof lining and started to fiberglass the roof lining (it's thick card that has the open cell foam and velour stuck to it), I will then roll 3mm closed cell foam onto the roof lining and glue the velour back onto the closed cell foam. I am also going to fill the cavities in the roof with expandable foam to cut down wind noise. Hopefully it will cut down most outside noise

My guess is it will reduce wind noise on high speeds dramatically, especially in an EA.
But I can't really think of how sound deadening the roof will improve SQ?...
